Gallup: Republicans Now Strongly Pro-Life, Democrats Back Abortion

Washington, DC -- The Gallup polling firm released a new report today looking back at its abortion polling from 1975-2009. It found that, over the last several years, Republicans and Democrats have become more polarized as Republicans move to a pro-life direction and Democrat embrace abortion.

appears that the Republican and Demo parties can now be known as the Life or Death parties since the Dems support death panels and death of babies.

Death panels (already established under the Stimulus Bill and Abortion paid for by those of us who believe we are paying for “hitmen/himwomen” to kill.

Nobody could make this stuff up.

Bush’s position, “rape, incest, life of mother”, was in line with 85% of the population.

Take away the soft targets, and abortion is overwhelmingly unpopular — espeically late term and partial birth abortion. I’d hazard to say that a woman who has more than one abortion is not thought much of either.

Bottom line: most people respect pro-life candidates.

Tertullian, Apology 9, 197 A.D.
“...murder being once for all forbidden, we may not destroy even the foetus in the womb, while as yet the human being derives blood from other parts of the body for its sustenance. To hinder a birth is merely a speedier man- killing; nor does it matter whether you take away a life that is born, or destroy one that is coming to the birth. That is a man which is going to be one; you have the fruit already in its seed.”

Yes, this is obvious. What would have been important for the author of the article is to give reasons why there is this difference. Could there be a correlation with religious faith?

All well and good,
Problem is dems are forcing me to pay for abortions.
And I have a real big problem with that.

This should be a State issue, as it was before roe v. wade, and democrats will lose in the end due to them KILLING their own babies off.

I would be willing to bed that demographically the majority of those who are pro-abortion have never had baby’s.
As I think a lot of people tend to change their views when they have kids, and realize what their dealing with.

To that end conservative States which ban abortion as murder will put more and more people into the situation of realizing the value of that which they would have otherwise simply carelessly killed, thus further bolstering such numbers which will eventual replace the more liberal population of Liberal “pro-choice” states.

And finally the mental illness of Liberalism epidemic will be reduced.

I don’t want Roe v. Wade over turned in such a way that it simply replaces one evil with its opposite. This needs to be a State issue just like murder! The act of an abortion aut to be regarded by pro-life States as a form of murder.

Gallup poll 1860-Republicans are against slavery, Democrats aren't-reject the Declaration of Independence.

Some things never change.

Yep, that’s were we are,but it’s like the South in control of the government with Bucahnin and trying to force slavery on the north.

This spells doom for Democrats with a country that’s moving more pro-life.

“This spells doom for Democrats with a country that’s moving more pro-life.”

I guess the pro-infanticide folks haven’t figured out how this works. Children tend to take on the attitudes and political ideas of their parents. Pro-life parents actually have children, and those that they do have oppose infanticide. They in turn have more children, and the cycle goes on.

The children of the pro-infanticide would support infanticide and in turn their children would support infanticide as well...but unfortunately, they never had the chance to be born.

This needs to be a State issue just like murder!

Even state statutes against murder are subject to the Constitution as is evident by the ability to appeal convictions in federal courts.

The fifth amendment to the U.S. Constitution prevents individuals from being deprived of life, liberty, or property without "due process of law. Do you think this Constitutional right should be left to the states to protect?

What about other Constitutional rights like those in the First or Second Amendments? Should we leave it to the states to determine if we should have the right to free speech or to possess firearms?

The right to life is a fundamental right explicitly protected by the U.S. Constitution. All state laws must be in accord.

There’s not enough consensus for a Constitutional amendment pertaining to abortion.
