The reporter who was interviewing President Obama when he famously swatted a fly is suddenly the buzz of DC, thanks to a New York Post gossip item about his marriage.
According to unnamed "spies" for Page Six, CNBC Washington correspondent and New York Times writer John Harwood has split from his wife Frankie Blackburn, and it's all because of an alleged romance with Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.)
The Post's March 5 column quotes anonymous "well placed sources" who claim Harwood managed to keep the sordid details out of one DC paper "by sobbing to a reporter until he agreed to kill the story."
A Cantwell spokesman had no comment about the rumor. As for Harwood, he reportedly told Page Six: "I don't feel comfortable talking about my family life." But, the sobbing part "is absolutely not true."
Among the men SeattleWeekly.com lists in the senator's dating history: lobbyist Ron Dotzauer, ESPN anchor Charlie Steiner, former New Jersey senator Robert Toricelli and lawyer Jim Johanson.

sorry, but it doesn’t matter what she looked like. Married is a “no go” for me. I’m married and it just isn’t worth the destruction of a family. But that’s just me, your mileage may differ and past performance is no indication of future results.... free country and such.

She’s been around.
Most of that tripe from her web site is misleading. Maria Cantwell was one of the founding board members of the Apolloalliance, along with Jesse Jackson,jr., the so-called, blue green alliance between the green Sierra club and the blue collar SEIU members. According to Glen Beck, the Apollo alliance wrote both the stimulus bill and the original Obamacare bill.
I forgot to add that she is about five feet tall and has zero interpersonal skills.
She was the keynote speaker at a dinner that we were attending and we were supposed to be seated at her table. I told the woman who planned the event that I wouldn’t have come if she had told me who was speaking. She moved our seat to the second table so that I couldn’t say anything to Cantwell. Cantwell never sat down, just gave her speech and left. It was sponsored by an oil company.
That's far worse than being waterboarded 100 times. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Yet, when I see Cantwell, my Gaydar is on alert.
Not filthy...after she lost her state gig she went to work for Real Networks. Rob Glazer is an ex-Microsoftie and an activist leftie. She did pretty well with stock options, I think to the tune of about $40M.
It was widely regarded at the time as creating a personal fortune for her so she could go play politics again.
She did just take out Slade Gorton and has been in office since.
That’s interesting. I haven’t seen Cantwell speak, but what about all the men she’s been involved with?
I understand that...she gives off a vibe that is undeniably wierd.
Why don’t we just make a short list of journalists not sleeping with elected officials ?
The media literally in bed with the Dems, the stories just write themselves.
I have met her and totally agree. She is a winner!
I have talked to Susan Hutchison and she is a very bright and a wonderful person to talk to. She knows the enemy and she will beat them.
She’s not an attractive person, IMO.
