Does PBS host Tavis Smiley have it right in stressing that President Obama should launch a Black Agenda for America? Or is Rev. Al Sharpton, a civil rights activist and one not known for backing away from controversy, correct in proclaiming that Smiley has it all wrong?
Smiley seems more than a little perturbed that some black leaders feel that with the election of the nations first black president coupled with the civil rights anthem of the 1960s We Shall Overcome Someday means Black America has largely overcome.
America particularly African Americans has to focus not on race but...

Should O have a black agenda? He does....
Should a white president have a white agenda for America?
Yes.
Right after President Palin announces a “white” or “Alaskan native” agenda.
After which, she won’t have my vote.
Yeah, I’m gonna hold my breath for that...
Since he’s only half black, shouldn’t he only have a half black agenda?
1) I believe they have already received disproportionate amounts.
2) This is all vote buying and is not intended to provide economic help.
First of all...what kind of an agenda are they perposing? The blacks today have so many more educations perks than anyone else, perks in hiring, perks in applying for welfare.
In the future Black America will never have the position to say they achieved having an African-American as a President.
No matter how much its argued, whitewashed or liberal spunned, Obama was never legally POTUS.
Black America will have to do better, get a candidate thats a natural born citizen and not a do-do bird stand-in.
Too much of America firmly believe Obama is in the Whitehouse only out of fear, fear that IF he is removed America will have a racial civil war. Should history be re-written to portray him in a positive though false manner?
I hope not.
He is too busy driving the country into the red with his Pinko agenda to bother with this agenda.
Maybe he could start off small and experiment. Like a Liechtenstein agenda?
Tavis Smiley is a racist that only exists because of public radio. I have listened to his racist blame game when driving long distances.
Obama is an adherer to ‘social justice’ with a focus on wealth redistribution , and a strong supporter of reparations to mend the centuries of ‘white oppression’.
It’s all Obama knows and EVERYTHING he has been taught since birth.
BUT ....
When you step back and look at a mulatto bastard actually instigate that agenda, there seems to be a fair percentage of those that said "yes" begin to question their own idealism or switch to a "no".
The bottom line is (imo .. and I'm probably a racist for thinking this ... ) ....
There are nations on the planet that are black ... and whites aren't that popular or many .... places that are oriental and whites aren't that popular or many ... and etc.
The planet is divided into factions of some kind that have always been and perhaps will always be.
America has been white since the beginning and if the civil rights laws have not been sufficient for some, and the attempts and accomplishments of individual men and women to unite and live without prejudice is not suffient as well .... then those that desire more must get to a powewr position and force their will on the public.
'Cause if a nation doesn't do something voluntarily, and a power stroker wants something to happen ... then he gutta' force the issue
He already does. Take a look at who he has been appointing to Federal offices of every description.
The clear lines from him back to ACORN says it all.
There shouldn’t be any agendas based on race. All reference to race on government forms should be removed. All government programs that specify any race should be eliminated. We are AMERICANS! We should not be identified by our race unless it is HUMAN!
Perhaps it would be better if the President had an “American Agenda” for America...
Just a thought.
he’s black and white and red all over.
