The percentage went up after news that Palin would be working for McAmnesty. Maybe the McCainbots can show some recent figures, for whatever they’re worth
The poll the McCainiacs keep talking about with a 20% spread for McCain was taken 1-20-2010, a month before J.D. even announced, but to hear them tell it, that is the final be-all, end-all poll!

Feb 15, 2010 ... JD Hayworth officially announces run for U.S. Senate
In a November Rasmussen poll, J.D. and McCain were about even,
43 to 45 percent with likely Republican primary voters.

As much as McCain’s insulting and disinformation specialists try to convince us otherwise, this race isn’t over yet.
McCain has current polls. Hayworth would have them if he is running to win. If JDs polls showed a gain he would have good reason to announce it. If McCain’s polls showed him doing even better he may not want to let JD know what he knows.
I bet Romney, Palin, and Brown have seen McCain’s internal polls.
