Navy has fired 6 commanders since January, triple its usual monthly rate

The Navy has fired six commanding officers since the start of the year -- triple its usual monthly rate -- including a foul-mouthed captain who was dismissed for subjecting her crew to "cruelty and maltreatment" aboard a warship in the Pacific.

Capt. Holly Graf, commander of the USS Cowpens, a guided-missile cruiser, was relieved of duty Jan. 13 after an investigation found she cursed so much at her 400-member crew that even the sailors -- no strangers to four-letter words -- were intimidated. According to the Navy inspector general's report released this week, officers complained that their captain humiliated them in front of the rest of the crew by calling them "idiots" and "stupid" as she spat a stream of obscenities. One noncommissioned officer said Graf treated him like a toddler, forcing him to take a "time out" by standing alone in an empty watch room.

Although verbal abuse would hardly put Graf among the worst tyrants ever to command a ship at sea, her former crew members have been exacting mutinous revenge in recent weeks by posting hundreds of anonymous comments on the Internet that describe her as "Horrible Holly," as well as a modern-day Captain Bligh.

Graf's has been highlighted in much of the criticism. One Web site, www.militarycorruption.com, called her "an incompetent and unstable 'politically correct' poster girl for all the super feminists at the Pentagon and the U.S. Naval Academy."

Graf has also been accused on the Web site of endangering sailors' lives by engaging the Cowpens in a "drag race" with a destroyer, the USS John S. McCain, near Okinawa, Japan. The inspector general's report confirmed that the race had taken place last year but concluded that allegations Graf had endangered the Cowpens were "unsubstantiated

Frankly, I’m not surprised more aren’t quitting. The BOOB they have as a Commander in Chief certainly is lowering morale.

It seems that Holly Graf was universally hated on her ship

Is she unprofessional and engaging in conduct umbecoming of an officer?

Thought the Chiefs were the ones with the foul mouths

Of course she could be an affirmative action promotion too.

That's not why she got shit canned, it was for physically assaulting a junior officer.

“It seems that Holly Graf was universally hated on her ship”

Kinda like Carly Fiorina on the good ship Hewlett-Packard...

Her entire ship hated her.

Not sure about that but nobody shed a tear when she left.

“A TERRIBLE RAGE INSIDE THE FOUR-STRIPE CAPTAIN

The rage that erupted from the scrawny 5’ 3” tiny terror was something to behold. There were many cases of hard objects thrown at the heads of officers and enlisted alike.

When she was amped up, she could make the toughest man-hating bull dyke appear to be Mother Teresa, in comparison,” a JO that served on the COWPENS told us.

In Graf’s most famous, or infamous, incident, she did a “Captain Bligh” when she grabbed a male officer around the neck and started to squeeze. That is the ultimate NO-NO for any commander or boss. When you “put your hands on” a subordinate, it’s end of the line for you, whether you’re a senior chief petty officer or skipper of the boat. But instead of being forced to retire, “Horrible Holly,” nick-named “The Sea H.A.G.” by her many victims, got to stay in the Navy.

Not only did she escape real punishment, the wimpy leadership - and we mean YOU, Roughhead and Mullen - tried to pull a fast one recently and quietly slip her into a rear admiral’s slot at AEGIS (BMD) in Virginia. After all, Holly “the special one,” has a big sister who’s already a flag officer. Her daddy is said to be a retired four-striper. This is one gal with “big-time connections.”

Her most fierce proponents have been members of “The Sisterhood,” a small but powerful group of lesbian senior officers at the Pentagon. To them, Holly can do no wrong. No woman “of their kind” can. And, if someone like Holly’s criticized, well, that’s “sexism,” don’t you know? Men are such chauvinists, anyway.”

I had a feeling the FemiNazis were involved somewhow in one way or the other. This woman had no business being in the United Sates Navy. She should have been sacked long ago, not just this January.

Okay endangering lives, abuse of authority, modern day Captain Bligh; but nothing on who won the drag race.

There is a difference. I served aboard a cruiser that had a C.O. relieved for cause. Until you serve under an unstable C.O. you have no cause to run your yap.
