...I call BS on their widely-reported, but easily-debunked, "laugh track" conspiracy theory.
Let's get THAT PART of this thread out of the way right from the start.

I can provide MANY facts to confirm what I already know, from having been there LIVE.

But, here is a very good analysis of why this whole story is so LAME, from a guy who just watched it on TV, as posted on hotair.com:

Just re-watched the Palin appearance on Leno’s show. Either D-bag Stinson is a liar, or Jay and Sarah are incredibly talented.

During the interview, it is clear that each of them pause for the applause to die down before continuing to speak. At one point, they each raise their voices to talk above the applause. If that was canned applause, then they are amazing in their ability to pause at the just the right moment knowing that the sound would be edited in later.

Same thing during Palin’s monologue. She must be a pro to know to pause long enough after each joke to allow space for the canned applause to be inserted. She is also a trooper. She kept smiling and plowing ahead as if the audience really liked her jokes instead showing that she was bombing like D-bag Stinson claims.

All in all, there may have been some laughter added over the top of her jokes, but only to enhance the audience’s reaction not fill it in completely. I am sure this is not the first time this has happened on a talk show.

Conclusion: D-bag Stinson is a liar.

Next week we turn the clocks back and thus we have an extra hour of Sarah Palin in daylight hours. This will be essential in collecting video footage for the summer months ahead.

And, for those of you who (like me) were not aware of Adam Lambert until he appeared on the "Tonight Show" last week on the same night as Governor Palin's interview/monologue with Jay Leno, here are some screen captures of that appearance, from adamlamberttv.blogspot.com:

...In this thread, which will serve as the "after action" report for our recent Leno FReep, I intend to explore this strange – and very unexpected (to me) twist – on the controversial "big tent" philosophy of the new Republican party. And that strange new twist is, many Adam Lambert fans support Sarah Palin!
As I posted on onyx's Palin/Leno LIVE thread, also from adamlamberttv.blogspot.com:
...The majority of the audience were there for Adam.

We had a few Palin people behind us but they were clearly in the minority. The audience was very polite even though many of us are not Palin supporters.

-- snip --

Why can't Adam and Palin fans be in the same person? I am.

-- snip --

I'm a Palin AND Adam supporter. There's a lot of us. A LOT of Palin supporters are Independents.....fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

-- snip --

I love Adam, and I don't dislike Palin.

I think there is room in the world for all of them. I'm glad there was such a diverse group on his show and that Leno showed respect to ALL of them.

-- snip --

Another Adam and Palin supporter here, who normally doesn't feel the need to respond to small-minded stereotyping of "Middle-America".

LOL!
Fortunately, "ignorance is one-hundred percent curable."
To the unknown keyword adder:
This is the "after action" report of an major recent L.A. chapter FReep during which we helped to support a conservative leader whom many think will be the next President of the United States, as she appeared on a national broadcast seen by almost SIX MILLION people -- not to mention all of the millions of OTHER people who saw (or heard about) this event afterwards, online and in the State-Controlled Media.

And, as it happens, this fact also put members of this forum in the unique position of being able to defend Governor Palin as EYEWITNESSES -- inside the studio audience of the "Tonight Show" during an alleged scandal which was manufactured to attack her.

The fact that many Lambert fans support Sarah shouldn't surprise anyone.

Lambert and Palin are both Rogues.

BTW, aside from Adam's way over the top antics and flaming appearance, that boy can honestly sing!

This is the only part of Mallard's insightful post on HotAir.com that I need to respectfully disagree with.

Here is a private reply that I sent to some Palin supporters who asked for MY opinion of this latest scandal:

...I don't plan to spend much time refuting the Kos Kids Konspiracies -- but OUR GROUP was probably the "laugh track" they thought they heard.

We only had a dozen or so FReepers (and FRiends) actually get in, so perhaps our support for Governor Palin did sound a little "forced" at times.

But it also may have helped that we were sitting directly under a microphone that may have made us sound louder to the TV audience at home than it would have to the bozo (sitting in another part of the studio audience) who wrote this screed.

I certainly did not hear HIS supposedly "loud" groans and sighes from where I was sitting -- in the center. Perhaps they really did have the mikes where he was sitting turned down. It sounds like where the "Rouge" people were sitting was where our friend Eric Golub was sitting. Maybe HE saw their "coloring books" -- and heard their "groans." WE certainly did not, from where we were sitting.

And OUR "Palin palm prints" didn't make it on the TV crowd shots either. The cameras were ignoring ALL of us in the audience, equally, I think.

On his side, over by the Tonight Show band, there were a lot of rather vocal Shaun White fans. Maybe that's why his mike was turned down, and did not pick up his sounds as well our mike did for our sounds -- at least for what the the audience at home was hearing. - RonDog

Some of that (now public) reply will make more sense after you read Stinson's original charges.

I love it. Great report. lol.

I loved Adam Lambert on Idol last year (although I'm not so fond of his professional career so far), and I also have a lot of respect and admiration for Sarah Palin.

=)

I did not even see the Leno show on TV; I heard so many great things about it that I watched it later, online. I knew there had been a contingent of FReepers in the audience, and I felt like I could “hear” them, because they were laughing with “conservative emplasis” (if that makes sense) at all the right places.

I have been searching for the major flaws of Sarah Palin. Loved her book, still searching. I like just about everything the woman writes and says. I’d like her in some form of leadership for the conservative movement, and we’ve done a lot worse than to have a President Palin.

Here is the clincher: I love Adam Lambert. I have bought a lot of his songs. I hated what he did on national TV on that awards show. He comes from a very nice family, he is very bright and talented, and I am hoping he gets over his focus on his sexuality, because his fans have. He can interpret a song like nobody’s business. Check out Aerosmith’s “Crying.” Adam’s is BETTER.

the Daily Kos, Huffpo and DU have been foaming at the mouth all week about Sarah's "rock star" performance

Works for me.

Can't really complain too much about Lambert since most of the '80s bands I loved in high school and college, and still listen to today, were pretty flambouyant and/or gay too:

Culture Club (gay), Erasure (gay), Bronski Beat (gay), Flock of Seagulls (flambouyant), Adam & the Ants (flambouyant), The Cure (flambouyant), etc, etc.

If Lambert fans like Palin, I say good!

I know of many die-hard conservatives who are Adam Lambert fans. He may be a super-swisher but he’s talented.

The one behind the Laugh Track story is Michael Stinson a left wing activist.

Sarah Palin Had Help From Jay Leno Laugh Track, Says Audience Member

"..Michael Stinson is not a Sarah Palin fan. The lefty activist and founder of takebackthemedia.com expressed his distaste for the Thrilla from Wasilla with a parody of Palin's ghostwritten autobiography called "Going Rouge: The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring & Activity Book.".."

NBC Claims Sarah Palin Needed No Laugh Track

"..“Neither the audio nor the laughs were enhanced for Sarah Palin’s segments on The Tonight Show,” NBC said in a statement..."

Alan Lambert fans liking Sarah. Nah. They just thought she was Tina Fey parodying Sarah. No conspiracy, no unexpected fan base... just stupidity.

We now know ten times more about Palin’s show business career than we know about Obama’s qualifications to be POTUS.
