Actually, I believe it was at various times in the distant past at least. For example, it was all the rage during French Revolution days. If I recall correctly, it was also so in Europe... but were talking reformation days and earlier.

Absolutely NOT. As a prosecutor, the LAST thing you want introduced to the jury is the idea that someone or something other than the defendant alone is responsible for his crime. Prosecutors don't want or like mitigating circumstances. A religion that demands "honor killing" is just a mitigating circumstance.

If this ruling is accurate, it's a win for the prosecution, not the defense.
