Over the last three days, ABC's World News devoted almost six times as much coverage to Senator Jim Bunning and his temporary hold-up of an unemployment bill as the program did for the ongoing revelations that Democratic Charlie Rangel violated House ethics with his trips to the Caribbean.
World News investigated and followed the Republican for four minutes and 38 seconds over two days. In comparison, the program could only manage a scant 48 seconds of coverage for Rangel. (Anchor Diane Sawyer on Wednesday finally asked George Stephanopoulos about the news that Rangel was stepping down from his powerful Ways and Means committee.)
The difference here is that Rangel's story was an actual scandal and ABC only treated Bunning's actions, which amounted to not giving unanimous consent to a $10 billion spending bill, as a scandal.

It was all anti-Bunning coverage too.
Probably using words like stalling, blocking, filibustering.... none of which is true.

I stopped watching “network news” twenty or more years ago. I’m not surprised to see that these “news” organizations are still the same Democrat party propaganda outfits now as they were then. I pray that all of them go bankrupt, fire all of their corrupt “reporters” and disappear forever.
Back in the days when I watched the nitwit news I remember wall to wall coverage of Watergate. I used to tape the newscasts during Reagan’s term so I could fast forward the daily attack and smear to get to the real news. Then when we had the second only impeachment of a president in the Nation’s history, zip. Of course by Clinton’s time I had the Net and had pretty much stopped watching nightly TV news.
I consider it a scandal that Congress passed Paygo and then one week later waived Paygo to spend $10 billion. How much time did ABC devote to that scandal?
As long as politicians like Rangel support ‘social justice’ and other progressive ideals, they are immune to negative coverage from the MSM.
Charlie,drunk as a skunk, could drive off a bridge,flee the scene of the accident,leave a young women to her death in the submerged car and the media would STILL criticize Sarah Palin’s Leno’s appearance while dismissing Rangles incident as non-news worthy.
what do you expect. As mor eof us switch to fox, talk radio, freeper, et al, the only ones left are people in Rangels districts and their talking point liberals
He should of said ... SURE i’m for unemployment benefits being extended indefinitely... I'm also for free sports cars for everyone, free mansions, free plasma TV’s, and even free skittles! But who's going to pay for it? because in case you haven't been paying attention recently WE'RE BROKE! In fact, we are worse than broke... THIS NATION IS BANKRUPT! So... take you can take your sob stories and shove them up your you know what! Because I am and standing up for America! Even if I stand alone!
If he had said that... he would be the next President in 2012, but instead he is just another Republican that caved.
Did you know that the bill he held up, which ABC blasted for 3 days about how it “hurt people” to hold it up, STILL HAS NOT PASSED!!!
It went to the house, and they refused to vote on it, instead they changed it and passed an updated bill, which now has to come back to the senate, but the senate won’t take it up yet, because I guess Reid is busy.
So ABC was screaming that BUnning was hurting people, but Pelosi and the house held up the bill and made the senate vote again, and that’s all just fine.
