Hoyer stepped in it. The whole Foley thing was garbage from the beginning. Hastert is not an employer and couldn’t fire Foley or any other duly elected representative. Moreover, it appears he took the appropriate action at each step of the way, with the information he had.
But Hoyer may have known too much without taking action. Pelosi was told this, which is why she’s doing the “I know nothing” defense.
