Campbell Brown's 'Conflict?'
TV Newser ^ | March 4, 2010 | Kevin Allocca

Posted on 03/04/2010 1:59:51 PM PST by Beaten Valve

With Campbell Brown's husband, Dan Senor, considering a political campaign for Senate against Kirsten Gillibrand, The NY Post's Michael Starr writes today, "[CNN] will have to decide if Brown can keep hosting her 8 p.m. nightly news show -- or if she would be compromised by the conflict."

A CNN spokesperson told Starr they wouldn't comment on "hypothetical situations," but Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren did, defending Brown in a blog post today:

There are all sorts of rumors out there that CNN's Campbell Brown's husband may run for the Senate and the question has been raised whether she can continue to do her anchoring job at CNN. The answer is YES. Of course she can still do her job. (h/t J$P) Van Susteren also added, "Women, believe it or not, don't take marching orders from spouses (neither do men!) You don't get to where Campbell Brown is by not having your own thoughts and your own will."

“IOW, how do you compartmentalize your ideology regarding the very marrow of life?”

Yep, pretty much.

Somewhat off track but here’s an interesting question: Campbell Brown is Catholic, Dan Senor is Jewish. Is this a valid Catholic Marriage?

Why would it be, if (as Wikipedia says) she converted?

BTW, way off track, and not that interesting.

Finding a little on the net about him...

looks like he was actively trying to promote and suggest Condi Rice as a VP candidate for McCain.

If it smells like BBQ RINO, it probably is.

Campbell Brown’s father...........

James Harvey “Jim” Brown, Jr. (born May 6, 1940), is a political consultant and political commentator based in Baton Rouge long active in Louisiana Democratic politics. In 1972, he was elected to both the Louisiana state Senate, to which he served two terms, and to the 1973 Constitutional Convention. He was secretary of state from 1980-1988, and he ran unsuccessfully for governor in the 1987 jungle primary. He was elected insurance commissioner in 1991 and served until his resignation in October 2000. Brown’s political career closed with a six-month prison sentence for lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the status of an insurance company.

Then there’s Maria and Arnold in CA.

Oh, and David Gregory and his wife, Beth Wilkins, who was a principal at Fannie Mae.

Interesting Debbie Schlussel article about the
“RINO - JINO” movement connecting Senor to some questionables.

Here is the paragraph about Senor. It’s best understood with a longer read of the article which I’ll link at the close of paragraph on Senor:

“And RJC’s forever chief, Brooks, surrounds himself with similar minds. He’s tight with Dan Senor and has been friends with him since Senor shilled as press secretary for Hezbollah-financier, Arafat-supporting then-U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham. Senor–another prominent RINO-JINO (whose family is extremely liberal)–is responsible, with Paul Bremer, for the failed de-Ba’athification of Iraq, which has lead to a Shi’ite government that puts in place the full pan-Hezbollah Shi’ite crescent in the Mid-East. Senor is now married to Campbell Brown, who as an NBC reporter gave a gushing interview to then HAMAS leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi. (She was the girlfriend of Saudi spokesman and Ambassador to the U.S. Adel Al-Jubeir.) Senor recently wrote a clueless (or deliberately false, not sure which) Wall Street Journal article praising former Argentinian President Carlos Memem as anti-Iran. But Menem was not only pro-Iran, he halted the investigation into and covered up the Hezbollah’s and Iran’s involvement in the bombing of the Buenos Aires Jewish Community Center and Israeli Embassy in the mid-’90s. Menem covered it up because his family is Muslim and because he was paid $5 million, the New York Times reported.
That’s the RINO-JINO movement for you.”

Personally I think this would constitute a huge conflict of interest if CNN had any viewers, but as things are this is probably a non-issue.

Campbell Brown is a beautiful woman with the worst voice of any woman in broadcast journalism. The sound of her voice can actually curdle milk.

But, since, according to the ratings, no one watches her, the question is a mute point,

Why not! Catholics view the Jews as our older brothers :-)

I’m Catholic, and there’s no way me marrying my older brother is valid in the eyes of the Church
