BOSTON -- Gay men should be allowed to donate blood and laws banning them from doing so are discriminatory and outdated, according to Sen. John Kerry and several of his Senate colleagues.
"Not a single piece of scientific evidence supports the ban, Kerry said. A law that was once considered medically justified is today simply outdated and needs to end."
Kerry was one of 16 U.S. Senators who in a letter on Thursday asked the Food and Drug Administration to lift the ban on gay men donating blood. The ban was put in place in 1983, at the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis and before modern screening and advanced testing methods for HIV were developed.

Science - I wonder how many of these yutzes can even spell it!
I was giving blood often. I quit because I get too angry when they ask some of those questions.
Is Kerry on crack? Can you imagine if the sodomites were able to donate? I can’t imagine how anyone would want their blood, even if it meant they’d die w/out a transfusion! AIDS is transferred through blood,ya idiot, along w/semen and vaginal secretions,or pretty much any bodily fluid!!!! Oy,vey....
He does a disservice to those brave men who served in Vietnam. I had an uncle who fought in that war,and when he came home he never talked about it. He’s now buried in Arlington, along with the many thousands of brave men/women who served.Kerry is a p***y of the highest magnitude.
Disgusting. And I’m supposed to accept this? Being gay is nothing to be proud of,and it’s NOT acceptable,by any stretch of the imagination. Gays spread DISEASE! I don’t want what they may have!
And this dingbat could have been president????
As a sign of good faith, I suggest Mr. Kerry have his total blood supply replaced with the donated blood from gays.
Get the airsick bag!
If their blood only goes to registered democrats then fine.

Ryan White

Only a few of these made the news.
None of these people had to die. All had received transfusions containing AIDS contaminated blood.
Obviously the lessons of these people have been forgotten... most likely on purpose. It seems a shame that their legacies will die in vain.
Wow, how do you know the Rats know their political ship is sinking? They start paddling for those all-important “gay rights” again.
Kerry is an imbecile.
You don’t have to accept it. It’s kinda like that saying, “Asian flu for Asians only.” It isn’t gonna happen. The Leftists will stop any sort of discrimination of blood donors, hospital patients who can afford to will stop accepting transfusions of blood from blood banks and find it privately, and the rest will get diseases and suffer and/or die. Just another nail in the coffin of America and for the West.
LOL! Cute!
He wants a lot of people to get AIDS apparently.

Leftism is not just a mental illness, it's evil. Just evil. Kerry is saying that he wants a lot of people to die of not only AIDS but get other blood borne diseases. He is an evil, evil man.
This is a direct attack by libs in the Gays in the Military War. The FDA ban on gay blood for the US population in general impedes the acceptance of gays in the military. Military blood OFTEN in battlefield conditions comes from the members of the units doing the fighting. It is called the “walking blood supply.”
The FDA ban in place says it will not accept gay blood because the infection and transmission period for HIV is as little as 2 weeks.

Kerry did not just come up with this out of the blue.
