Isn't chewing tobacco and snuff the same thing?

Chewing tobacco comes in leaves or plugs that users put in their cheek pouches and then chew.

Snuff is finely ground powdered tobacco that users put between their gums and cheeks.

Lucy, you just may be onto something about the snuff.

When I was a child, I knew an addicted user of snuff, and she kept it in her bottom lip exactly like 0 looks in that photo. He could, indeed, be using it as a nicotine fix in place of smoking.

Nasty habit.

The interesting part is that a snuff user is one mean human being if they don’t get their fix or run out of it. In my childhood, the term “out of snuff” meant to steer clear.

There's nothing nice about snuff. It has been associated with oral cancer.
