House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Thursday he expects Democrats' healthcare bill to hit the House floor "within days."

Boehner said he expects the debate over healthcare to begin, in earnest, as Democrats in the House prepare to take up the health bill passed by the Senate last Christmas Eve.

"I think we're within days of this bill coming to the floor of the House," Boehner said during an appearance on Fox News. "It's pretty clear that the president, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid want to do everything they can to jam this bill through the House and the Senate to get it to the president's desk."

"No, that was in an "agreement" that Dems came up with, but nobody has voted on it. "

Yep, that's exactly right.

ACTION ALERT

With handy, clickable contact information

Here's the official Code Red List for the selected HOUSE DEMOCRATS THAT NEED TO BE PUSHED HARDEST.

The clickable links go to their online Message System. You can use the same City, State, Zip, and Area Codes as one of their local district offices (usually listed on the same page) with any street address you want --- you're using local information to get through their spam filter. For Zip+4, use any 4 digits added onto the selected Zip Code.

Write a brief, punchy letter in your Word Program, and cut-and-paste it to one congresscritter after another from the CODE RED LIST.

It is easy to do 15 or 20 of them in an hour.

We can absolutely win this one.

Go get ‘em.

I don’t know how it will “hit the floor” for debate. They certainly won’t allow debate on any amendments, because a single amendment would kill the bill. And they know they could get the stupak amendment attached to the bill.

In fact, that could well be THE focus of the house republicans, fighting for the right of the 240 supporters of the STupak amendment to an up-or-down vote on that amendment.

But it won’t happen, pelosi doesn’t need debate or amendments, she needs to bring the bill to the floor as is and have a vote.

If she brings it up and lets debate happen, it means she doesn’t have the votes and is stalling but wants to make it look like they are making progress.

My guess is they’ll even block the motion to recommit, because that would win as well.

Isn't chewing tobacco and snuff the same thing?

Chewing tobacco comes in leaves or plugs that users put in their cheek pouches and then chew.

Snuff is finely ground powdered tobacco that users put between their gums and cheeks.

Lucy, you just may be onto something about the snuff.

When I was a child, I knew an addicted user of snuff, and she kept it in her bottom lip exactly like 0 looks in that photo. He could, indeed, be using it as a nicotine fix in place of smoking.

Nasty habit.

The interesting part is that a snuff user is one mean human being if they don’t get their fix or run out of it. In my childhood, the term “out of snuff” meant to steer clear.

There's nothing nice about snuff. It has been associated with oral cancer.

i just can’t imagine they will bring it to the floor if they don’t have the votes locked in.
After all this time, they would be stupid to let it fail on the vote.

They are evil, but not stupid.
