Boehner says he expects health bill to hit House floor 'within days'

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Thursday he expects Democrats' healthcare bill to hit the House floor "within days."

Boehner said he expects the debate over healthcare to begin, in earnest, as Democrats in the House prepare to take up the health bill passed by the Senate last Christmas Eve.

"I think we're within days of this bill coming to the floor of the House," Boehner said during an appearance on Fox News. "It's pretty clear that the president, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid want to do everything they can to jam this bill through the House and the Senate to get it to the president's desk."

“This has NOTHING to do with healthcare, it’s about FASCIST CONTROL...

...and ABORTION. It’s always about Abortion with these people. “

Right on both counts.

Sounds like another Sunday Midnight vote about to happen.

A voice vote, I bet.

Let the Democrats vote! It is all in their hands, they don’t need a single Pube.

Where are the Republicans stating this fact anyway?

Oh, sorry, I couldn’t see most of them there because they have their head firmly planted up their ass.

Isn't chewing tobacco and snuff the same thing?

Yes, I would saw he has a mouth full of it.

He isn't even looking at that ice cream cone.

Remember, if the senate bill is passed without reconciliation, it has the cadillac healthcare tax on unions. Also, lefties like Kucinich don’t like it because it doesn’t have single payer. This bill by itself would be harmful to the Dems in Nov. because of the unions, not to mention it is unpopular.

It might make sense for Dems to go ahead an pass the senate bill if they can, and THEN write a reconciliation bill to exclude the cadillac plans and raise revenue (or at least claim it raises revenue).

This approach could fall apart at several points, so it’s risky. But it may be more risky for them to come away with nothing.

I finally got through to Bunning and McConnell yesterday.

Bunning, to thank him for showing moral certitude and courage.

McConnell, to roast him for no Republican standing with Bunning.

I called Boehner today to thank him for standing firm against this very dangerous bill.

Boy, that is one ugly mug. It looks as if his facelift is slipping or something. He needs some botox.

The only “risk’ being taken here are the House dems, they have to trust their wishes will be able to be passed by reconciliation. You cannot “fix” abortion by reconciliation and they know it.

Wow.

If reconciliation does not eliminate the cadillac tax, unions will not be happy in Nov.

Yes they did put off the cadillac tax on unions until 2018.

The ultimate irony here is to look at Greece. This bill is not about who gets what and when. It is about collapsing the whole economy and Obama gets to remake the new system. They already know it will fail.

No, that was in an "agreement" that Dems came up with, but nobody has voted on it. We are starting to fall victim to Obama's disinformation here.

Note that this "agreement" happened in Jan. 2010, after the senate final vote in Dec. 2009. A more recent proposal was supposed to eliminate the cadillac tax for everybody. but none of these proposals have been voted on. They could happen, but if Dems vote on the senate bill, they will be voting for an onerous tax on unions (and others), with a promise to "fix" it some day, but AFAIK no plan to pay for these changes.

The sweetheart deal, hammered out behind closed doors, will save union employees at least $60 billion over the years involved, while others won't be as lucky -- they'll have to cough up almost $90 billion.

FWIW, McConnell was sensational yesterday in his presser following BO... Encourage you to see or read it.

“This is not a fight between Democrats and Republicans. This is a fight between Democrats and the American people. The American people hate this legislation...”
