Why is Obama not working to bolster the economy, instead of draining it?

Where are the incentives to small businesses?

Where are the jobs?

Why is Obama wasting time on health care and other issues that only cost us money and add to Government control?

WHY NOT FOCUS ONLY ON THE ECONOMY? FOLKS ARE HURTING; THEY ARE OUT OF WORK AND HURTING!!!!

Hope and change my A**.

Let me put it this way, would you sign a contract for a car without getting to read the contract and being assured by the used car salesman that we’d “work out the details after you sign”?

Then why on earth would you trust a politician this way?

As long as it passes both houses, it’s good. He could just sign it I believe.

No she doesn’t have the votes and Boehner is accomplishing 3 things:

1. Raising the alarm for the American people, because the momentum from last night and especially this morning is against the bill.

2. It plays into the White House demand that she get this done by March 18 in the House.

3. Raises expectations on the Left.

Hoyer has already indicated that they might not make the Easter week deadline - even in the House.

I wish I had 5 cents for every time freepers go ballistic in seconds without thinking srategically.

Yes, indeed.
I have a better grasp of it after reading the discussion over at:

HOT AIR

"Over the last few days, readers have sent a number of e-mails objecting to our focus on reconciliation as the big problem facing the opposition to ObamaCare. Reconciliation is just a ruse, they warn. The real danger is that the House will pass the Senate version of ObamaCare and that Barack Obama will sign it into law. The Senate doesn’t have to do anything at that point, except perhaps dodge the missiles tossed across the Capitol’s parking lot from their colleagues in the House after stiffing them on fixing their concerns.

That certainly has some truth to it. The House has had the option to do just that ever since the Senate passed its version in late December. The House can do that at any time during this session of Congress, which ends in December. They do not need to even put it through the committee process, but can bring it to the floor expeditiously — and Republicans have no way to stop it. If Nancy Pelosi ever decides to do that — presuming she can get the votes to pass it — Obama would surely sign the bill.........................

................... The real nightmare scenario isn’t that the House might pass the Senate bill now, or in April. It’s that Democrats might get stymied now, and then pass the Senate bill after the midterms in late November, and allow Obama to sign it into law well after the time when voters have held them accountable for their radical agenda.

Worth repeating:

The real nightmare scenario isn’t that the House might pass the Senate bill now, or in April. It’s that Democrats might get stymied now, and then pass the Senate bill after the midterms in late November, and allow Obama to sign it into law well after the time when voters (could) have held them accountable for their radical agenda.

WILL THIS THING EVER DIE? More lives than a cat... More lives than a zombie vampire cat.

Absolutely! Zero will have everything he wants, plus. The press knows this, and is covering as usual. As an aside, I think the sense of urgency by the dims, might have something to do with the Fitzgerald investigation going on in Chicago.(leaks about the fish sender and O, Dana Milback op/ed)

Excellent points.

Frankly, I hadn’t thought about it, but it is correct.

Reconciliation is not necessary at all. If both houses pass the same exact bill, it is passed, no committees needed to iron out the differences.

It can go directly to Obama.

This could be one big ruse just to pass the thing and then “forget” about reconciliation.

This must be sent to drudge....drudge@drudgereport.com

Rush may be right on this, or maybe not. Under the Constitution, all bills regarding taxation and spending must arise in the House. Thus, the Senate cannot propose the legislation. If the House passes the Senate Bill as is, it may still have to constitutionally go back to the Senate for approval so that the Bill has “arisen” in the House. Then as a budget matter, and as the Senate has already closed debate on the issue, reconciliation can be used to pass the bill where it is then ready for 0bama’s signature.

So maybe yes, maybe no.

“CALL YOUR DELEGATES NOW!!!”

Jim DeMint was on Glenn Beck's radio show this AM and said he does not believe dems have enough votes to pass this garbage. Glenn asked him what we citizens can do to kill this bill, and Jim said that we should begin now for the next two weeks or so and call our reps....better yet, we should call the reps’ local numbers, and also get a
group together (attn: tea party groups, etc.) and go down to the politician's local office and protest this bill...and be sure to call your local newspaper beforehand and give them a heads up that you will be at so and so’s office to pour on the heat...Jim DeMint said that politicians do not want any negative publicity and will cringe if this does occur. WE CAN make a difference on which way this debacle is going to go...so let's get er’ done. It's up to these politicians...are they behind this socialist ideologue in the White House and wish to destroy this country with this healthcare bill, and thereby end THEIR political careers when THE PEOPLE react to their decision, OR do these politicians believe in the republic of the United States of America, in capitalism, in freedom and liberty and are willing to step up, speak out and defend our country against all enemies, both DOMESTIC and foreign who threaten this country's future...GIVE US LIBERTY, OR IT WILL BE THE DEATH OF THIS NATION.

I don’t understand these procedural tricks well enough to know if that is true, but it does make sense to me.

It is true that the House has to vote and pass the current version of the Senate Bill. If they do it becomes LAW as soon as it is signed by Obama.

So that is enough to deliver ObamaCare. There is no need for a Reconciliation Bill. So Rush is right about that.

But it is not given that Pelosi has the votes to pass the Senate Bill without a commitment by the Senate to make changes to the bill after it is passed. A Reconciliation Bill would be the mechanism for making those changes. The question is: do the House Dems trust the Senate to come through on their promise? I hope not. It should be an interesting next couple of weeks watching Pelosi and Reid try to make this happen. Get out the popcorn but e-mail your Congressman first.
