ustice Department on So-called ”Al Qaeda Seven”: We Will Not Participate in An Attempt to Drag People’s Names Through the Mud

March 03, 2010 4:19 PM

For several weeks, Republican lawmakers and a conservative group have been attacking the Justice Department for refusing to reveal the names of nine officials who have in some way advocated for or represented detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

"The administration has made many highly questionable decisions when it comes to national security, " Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a recent statement, arguing that the public has “a right to know who advises the Attorney General and the President on these critical matters."

Attorney General Eric Holder identified two of the attorneys in question: Principal Deputy Solicitor General Neal Katyal and National Security Division Attorney Jennifer Daskal. Katyal won the Supreme Court case Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, challenging the legality of President Bush’s military commissions; Dascal worked for Human Rights Watch.

Who were the other seven? Holder refused to say.

So telling the truth is dragging people through the mud.

Add it to the DOJ stonewall list, currently approaching the Great Wall of China in length.

Sure, they voluntarily defended terrorists but how dare you insinuate that they can’t be impartial prosecutors...

This from crumb bums who never spoke out when John Murtha served as an enemy propagandist with the agitprop of “The Haditha Massacre”.

You forgot part of the equation of the first sentence, so let me help you. ‘So telling the truth to the people who foot the bill is dragging people through the mud?’

Remember when the Left threw a hissyfit that Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn would dare accuse members of the State Department and US military of having antiAmerican/pro-foreign power political views?

This is exactly the kind of thing that is going to result in Eric Holder being thrown under the bus by Premier Hussein, ibn Obama. This will not stand, and when the heat becomes too unbearable, Holder will be out so fast he’ll create a sonic boom...

I’ll go you one better...

If giving civilian lawyers “aids” these terrorists, and if we’re in a war against terrorists, then isn’t Holder engaging in treason by giving aid to our enemy?

So then we are to assume the whole DOJ is guilty of this or atleast approving of this?

And will all of this administration's "Terrible" decisions be brought forward during the next election? I doubt it. The career repubs will continue the McCain line of bipartisanship of "My good friends across the isle" foolishness.

The true Republicans/Conservatives running to unseat these fools need to Emphasize the Dumbocrats support for obamarama's traitorous actions against America.

It’s one thing to appoint a bunch of communist “czars” to positions that really don’t have much power (see Van Jones, etc.); it is quite another to appoint a terrorist-loving anti-American to the position of Attorney General who is responsible for protecting American citizens and prosecuting criminals. As someone said above, “Unreal”.

The fox is in the henhouse.

These guys are Al Qaeda’s lawyers. This is why they are excited, salivating at the chance to go after CIA, and why Holder was so anxious to put Bush and Cheney on trial. Why they’ve fought to get Al Qaeda agents released from jail, why they’ve fought so hard to get Guantanamo closed down.

Why they stopped the trial of 911’s author after he already pled guilty.

This is what happens when you elect marxists into the White House.
