AZ-Sen. 2010: McCain calls in favors (GOP establishment ganging up on J.D. Hayworth)
Politico ^ | 2010-03-03 | Andy Barr

Posted on 03/03/2010 10:22:15 AM PST by rabscuttle385

Over the past week, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has rolled out a list of blue-chip GOP political endorsements in his primary contest against challenger J.D. Hayworth — and his campaign said more are on the way.

It’s part of a concerted effort to remind primary voters of his stature, as well as an attempt to undercut Hayworth’s claim to be the conservative candidate in the Aug. 24 primary before his challenger can gain any traction.

To neutralize Hayworth’s claim on tea party movement voters, McCain has unveiled his backing from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and newly minted Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) — both plan to stump on his behalf.

The former 2008 GOP presidential nominee has also picked up the official support of the entire state GOP congressional delegation — a few of whom once served in the House with Hayworth — and the state Chamber of Commerce. Prominent national Republicans are on the McCain team, too: Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, once a bitter enemy.

“He’s laying out the marker to demonstrate that he’s got support across the board,” said Sean Noble, an Arizona GOP consultant and former chief of staff to Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.). “The establishment in Arizona is very conservative. You’ve got guys who are way more conservative than either Hayworth or McCain, and they are siding with McCain.”

The steady and consistent clip of the endorsements is by design, said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.

“We have a plan to roll out over the next two or three weeks even more,” Rogers said. “John McCain has deep support because of the hard work he’s doing to fight for Arizona, and that’s reflected in the endorsements.”

Maybe it’s time for WE THE PEOPLE to start ganging up on the GOP establishment?

There is the possibility that this will backfire and all it will do is paint him as a big Washington insider.

From a party perspective do you really want to say a guy went from being your Presidential nominee to being kicked out of office in a Senate primary two years later?

That’s just a meteoric crash and the party really can’t afford to show no support in this situation.

Like it or not, it’s just political.

>> McCain has unveiled his backing from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin

It’s clear to me that Palin’s endorsement of McCain is completely superficial.

That was Governor Rick Perry's most productive ad against Kay Baily Hutchinson.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson was elected to change Washington, but Washington changed her!

I’m do see where you’re coming from on this. What better way to show the the Pubbies get it and are recommitted to small government and localism than to have their practically Democrat (wanted to be on the Kerry ticket, wanted to name Lieberman to his ticket) candidate kicked to the curb by his local Republican and tea party constituents.

We can determine from their records that these GOP biggies favor ‘a path to citizenship’ but I wonder if they also support McCain’s latest...his attempt to destroy which vitamins we want to take!???

John Mccain Introduces New Bill That Threatens Your Choice to be Healthy
[snips]
Mar. 1, 2010

Whether it be Barack, John Mccain or Bill Clinton, Im really not a fan of politicians. Its been clear over the last twenty years that they can’t solve anything, they can merely just pose possible and ask for money. On top of that they are notorious lying two faces that on many occasions say one thing while completely doing another.

John Mccain has introduced a new bill called The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA) which threatens your access to every natural supplement you can think of. Whether it be, ginseng, chlorella, or anything else that is an all natrual supplement, this bill threatens access to it. Health food stores that specialize in providing you with essential vitamins would virtually disappear.

The FDA already has the power to pull supplements from the market that are contaminated but it has not been doing its job. DSSA is not only unnecessary, but it would actually reward the FDA for its failures. DSSA would also strip DSHEA and give full control of the supplement industry to the FDA.

The FDA is one of the biggest threats to our health, yet its public relations team continues their marketing and advertising blitz to make the general public think its actually its our biggest protector. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The FDA would rake in millions which it would more than likely donate to future John Mccain Campaigns if this bill were to pass. And being the FDA is in bed with the medical industry, the fact that this bill would stop access to healthy supplements our body needs because our food lacks many essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients, means people would become much more sicker, which would lead to much more doctor visits, which would mean more hospital stays and pharmaceutical prescriptions being written, which in turn would create massive profits for the medical and pharmaceutical industries. This is happening now, but this bill would magnify the amount of injustice being done, by institutions that were put in place to heal and protect us, just to reap massive profits.

Being this is detrimental to the health of you and the future of this nation, or children, I urge you to head over to Natural News to find out more detail about the bill, and then go to the Alliance for Natural health Website to find out what you can do to help stop this bill.

“From a party perspective”

Screw ‘the party’...that’s how we got in this McCain mess.

Just think, in this AZ primary you can vote for Hayworth, the republican or McCain THE DEMOCRAT!

It’s time for conservative Americans to take control of the Republican Party from the bottom up and the top down. Make every race between grassroots conservatives and the establishment an overwhelming victory for conservatives. Go Hayworth!

Republicans are making a mistake in supporting John McCain. I never give $ to politicians but I will be giving $ to Hayworth to get rid of the POS.
