What a day to celebrate with ‘a first’. Maybe by then you can come up w/a special drink and call it Sarah! It’s has to be strong and sweet! ;) You’ll need a little inside info but getting married on the day she announces she’s running will, also, be a day to celebrate! Conservatives are SO LONG OVERDUE for some celebration.
Don’t worry Nutmeg I just saw on Drudge report that Leno beat Letterman in the ratings after last night show
He needs to dress appropriately. His voters are shallow and they have something to focus on - they couldn’t bear focusing on him/his record, he’d be exposed nekked!
I don't want Sarah to be a fashionista in the extreme.EXACTLY, Republic!
Particularly not in this venue.
The "Tonight Show" is a place for "Sarah Palin UNPLUGGED" -- like she is a guest in your home.
Dressy casual, I think they call it. :o)(But what do **I** know about fashion.)
Sarah came off well in those jeans.
Sarah has an athletic runners build. She's not your average 46 year-old woman.
Perhaps you should not judge Sarah by those 46 year-old female body shapes that you are more familiar with.
I say she has an athlete’s body and looks good in anything! Age has nothing to do with it.
Actually Chazmodius, your point was clear, I just disagreed with it.
McCain was cleared of any Keating 5 wrong doing.
As I said, a better comparison would have been McCain talking with Dave about first amendment rights. There are of course plenty of other examples about McCain.
BTW, why did you change the subject, from the absurdity of Mitt talking with Dave about health care?
I was just continuing with the “That’s like OJ discussing Domestic Violence” riff. The subject wasn’t changed.
You are setting up a straw man fallacy and not addressing the point.
Medicare and FICA were passed as a promise of health insurance for people of a certain age. If you promise health insurance, pass a law to pay for it, take money from people's paychecks to pay for it and then you don't supply the individual service up to the point of value that was individually paid, then the slogan, "keep your hands off my Medicare" is appropriate.
On McCain, he was admonished for his involvement, even though he was cleared of rules violations. However, he used that as an example of how “good men” could get drawn into corruption because of campaign contributions.
Rather than accept that his own failings were his problem, he decided that if HE could be corrupted, then obviously everybody else could be corrupted, and he used that as his basis for pushing CFR.
Fact is, he didn’t really do anything wrong in Keating 5. His error was in pushing CFR, and pretending that everybody else couldn’t be trusted just because of his involvement with Keating.
True, I'll give you that. :)
SCHIP was promised as health insurance for people of a certain age, paid for by taxes with the promise that those taxes would fund a certain level of insurance.
Does that mean that if we tried to cut back the SCHIP program, we would be doing the wrong thing?
I know there is a slight difference, in that the taxes “dedicated” to pay for SCHIP are not necessarily paid by the people who get benefits from the program, while Medicare is universal, and therefore everybody who benefits could have paid taxes for it. But everybody who benefits from anything government does, who pays taxes, can say the same thing.
And many many programs of the government start out with some change to the tax laws to fund them, and promises about what the programs will do with those taxes.
So I still say it is funny to hear someone complain about the government having their hands on medicare.
People always want the government programs that they benefit from to remain untouched, or increased. They will always argue that “I paid taxes for that program”, and therefore deserve the benefits from the program.
And it is true that medicare is such a big program, that it has crowded out virtually ALL OTHER INSURANCE for people over 65, so you can’t realistically cut it at this point.
But realize that your argument could be used 5 years from now if we take over the white house and house and senate, and try to revoke Obamacare.
Medicare is the perfect example of how government sticks its nose where it doesn’t belong, takes over, and becomes an irrevocable force, to the point where people have to care about what government does on a daily basis.
I want to live in a day when I don’t really CARE who is President, because there’s nothing he or congress can really do to bother me.
I’m not your typical 50 year-old woman. I’m a size 0.
Regardless of size, dark wash, straight cut (no flare) on national TV is the best choice. That’s all I’m saying.
Of course she looks good in jeans. Besides, her jacket covered up her mid-section so all that could be seen is her legs.
Absolutely not.
We should revoke Obamacare if it is passed and we should give people back the money that they put into it.
I would gladly welcome Obama ending Medicare, as long as he doesn't start a new entitlement and as long as he reimburses those who were promised health insurance, who payed for it and who didn't receive the promised service that they individually paid for.
Got a pic?
jk. :)
I do, I do!!! Put me on!
I’m so glad I have it on TIVO!
After reading all the comments about her jeans, I looked and they’re not only a perfect fit, they’re what we wear here. Sheesh.
Sarah looked fabulous as always!
RonDog, should we search for your after report or await a ping? *wink*
I also read where he was told to brush his teeth twice a day, which was an indicator that he didn't. Eeeww, how bad is his personal hygiene?
According to his wife, he is snorey and stinky.
