Two children died last week in what officials describe as homicides stemming from child abuse.
On Friday, a 2-year-old boy died after he experienced trauma to his head and abdomen, according to information from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The child was being cared for at a home in Portage Park, police said.
Also Friday, police said they discovered a newborn girl, who had been wrapped a plastic bag and placed in the closet of her home in the 6100 block of North Sheridan Road. Charges have been brought in both cases.

Notice the names of those “white” males?
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.
Why do they classify Hispanics as whites?
I don’t know if those numbers are more or less than usual. I know that when I was growing up outside Chicago it was not uncommon to hear of at least one murder every night on the news, or more — especially in the summer, and on the weekends (or so it seemed... a reg. occurrence at least). After all, there are over 9.5 million people living in the greater metro area, and some really bad areas among those rife with drugs and gangs. It will be a VERY good thing if this law is finally overturned. I was pleasantly surprised by Heller, and I hope it is the same with this case — praying for it...
Nobody proofreads anymore.
Perhaps this means that the old white female newborn was a Bodhisattva that did not need to stay long on the Earth to attain the bliss of Nirvana. At least that is a much finer thought than the one line reality we read. All we have left is to pray for this infant.
