CNNs Rick Sanchez famously tweeted last year, do u know how much money id make if id sold out as hispanic and worked at fox news, r u kidding, one problem, looking in mirror. But after his unorthodox coverage of the Chile earthquake this weekend, Sanchez might have problems looking himself in the mirror for a slightly different reason.
Just seconds after asking a guest expert what nine meters is in English, Sanchez, no doubt still playing on tilt, lost his cool because the yang of the yin didnt jive with his perception of what it ought to be:

The ignorance of these media types is beyond belief.
I believe he was referring to the English units of measurement, as opposed to metric.
That’s what did leap to my mind, but I doubt Sanchez is smart enough to be aware of that.
I saw this while sitting at the airport - and several guffawed at the same time...for just that one moment we were all connected by the fact that Sanchez is a complete nit wit—it was a special moment.
What a moron! Even I know 9 meters is just under 30 feet. Maybe they should send all of these talking heads back to school. They can start with reading and arithmetic.
Is this the same Rick Sanchez who hit a pedestrian with his car?
I can't bust his b@lls on this one.
Good point but I agree with later posters who say Sanchez is too stupid to be referring to English units of measurement. And, of course, if this was a Fox news commentator saying something like this in Chile, the cries of RACISM!!!!!!! would be deafening . . . .
Yep. He also recently identified, while pointing at a map, the Galapagos Islands as the Hawaiian Islands.
Another South Florida rocket scientist...thank you, WSVN!
Actually, the system of weights and measure we use here is known as the English system. He’s technically correct
...while drunk? ...yes.
“Thats what did leap to my mind, but I doubt Sanchez is smart enough to be aware of that.”
His intelligence aside, isn’t it more likely than not that he meant the system of measurement rather than the language? Because, I mean, come on, who mixes up languages and units of measurement? That’s just weird.
In any case, he wasn’t wrong. Which makes this whole thread useless and perhaps stupid itself.
You didn’t actually watch either of the videos, did you?
The common way to ask this question would be what is that measurement “in feet”, not “in English.” I’m still with those who say Sanchez is incredibly stupid and thinks metric is a different language.
Yep. We're making a mistake to make anything of this.
I just don't get the knot thing. I mean, why do i need rope to figure out how fast I'm going?
I saw this guy for the first time recently. He is drop-dead stupid.
“You didnt actually watch either of the videos, did you?”
I saw it. The guy knew exactly what Sanchez was talking about and answered “27 feet” immediately. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the exchange. Sanchez comes off as a whole lot smarter than whoever put up that video at the website.
FOXNews would not hire such an idiot....therefore, no need to conjure up such a hypothetical scenerio there, Sanchez, kkthx.
