Obama Plans to Eliminate ‘Thousands’ of U.S. Nuclear Warheads(How long until U.S. to be undefended?)

The Obama administration is formulating a new nuclear weapons policy that would include the elimination of thousands of warheads and the possible withdrawal of all tactical warheads from Europe.

Obama is also under pressure to abandon the Bush Doctrine allowing preemptive action, including the use of nuclear weapons, against any nation threatening American security, The New York Times reported on Monday. The new strategy will be included in a document called the Nuclear Posture Review, which every president must complete.

“It will be clear in the document that there will be very dramatic reductions — in the thousands — as related to the stockpile,” a senior administration official told the Times. Many of those warheads are in storage.

The administration is also discussing whether to withdraw American nuclear weapons from Europe, “where they provide more political reassurance than actual defense,” according to the Times.

A number of influential Democrats, including Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, are urging Obama to declare that the “sole purpose” of America’s nuclear arsenal is to deter a nuclear attack.

But some officials in the Pentagon and the White House want Obama to declare that deterring a nuclear attack is the primary, but not the only, purpose of the arsenal.

“Any compromise wording that leaves in place elements of the Bush-era preemption policy, or suggests the United States could use nuclear weapons against a nonnuclear adversary, would disappoint many on the left wing of his party, and some arms control advocates,” the Times disclosed.

Consider that Hussein, and all his minions at DND are privy to every secret program and every top secret the nation possesses. Does that fact help you sleep at night?

1. Guess there really is a difference between Democrats and Republicans.

2. Elections have consequences, including some that can kill you and your loved ones.

3. Even most squishy Republicans (the likes of Arnold Schwarzengger and Colin Powell excepted since their ilk are genuine RINOs) are far better than any Leftist. Conservatives should remember that the next time they are tempted to "punish" Republicans by staying home on election day or voting third party.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Can it be that some of these are just old & we are eliminating them for possible safety reasons? Just inquiring.

Even a Nazi can't just throw a nuclear warhead in the trash. He won't do anything like this until he convinces Democrats in Congress to fund him.

I'm starting to get the sense Obama couldn't get enough Democrats in Congress to engage with him in a game of marbles.

I agree, when it happens, Barry will use some line like, “I am working with our new overlords towards a solution” while on the other hand our new leaders will crown him King and give him rule over us. In other words, the hands pulling Barrys puppet strings will change. he will be nothing but a messenger boy wearing a crown.

FTA: “... the possible withdrawal of all tactical warheads from Europe.”

I thought those were negotiated away back in the 80s and withdrawn by the early 90s. I know that all of the tactical missiles and field artillery went away in that time. Are there still some aircraft-delivered tacnukes that this refers to?

Agreed, but they are probably older generation nukes and can easily be replaced with newer generations with another administration.

if you think voting will stop this, you’re delusional

these people understand in order to get their goals achieved, they must strike fast before anyone knows what’s going on. get their desires met, see them fulfilled, and then opposition (us) will have to regain what was already lost.

we’ll be down a few thousand warheads and left with some RPGs to defend the country... if we’re lucky

i really don’t see how this isn’t treason

He cannot get rid of those warheads in 10 months. It is completely impossible. If you think this healthcare bill is tough. The fight for the nuclear arsenal will be a bloodbath. Your thinking is both impractical and delusional.
