An Israeli delegation that traveled to Beijing last week presented detailed intelligence on Iran's nuclear program in an attempt to persuade China that Tehran seeks atomic weapons, a senior diplomatic source told Haaretz.
The group, led by Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon and central bank chief Stanley Fischer, tried to persuade China to support sanctions on Iran by offering "the full intelligence picture available to Israel," the diplomat said.
The Israeli officials also told the Chinese that a nuclear Iran would push up oil prices-China depends on Iran.....

I’m finding it hard to believe the ChiComs will give a rat’s ass, and they will simply let the Iranians know exactly what Israel does and doesn’t know
The Chinese and Russians simply use the Iranians and N. Koreans as proxies to tie up American resources.
One of these days its going to bite them.
Any ideas on what you think could happen to the ChiComs?
China doesn’t care. They are building refineries there.
The thing I notice about this is that Israel went to China and not the US.
Israel should tell the chi-coms that if they fail to act then Israel will help Vietnam and South Korea and Japan in any effort to build a nuke program.
What is good for the goose type deal.
But then I remembered working for the Japanese, and their management style.
They'd have nukes in 12 years or so.
But the nukes would be stealth ICBMs with on-board ECM and fully working anti-SDI gear including deflectors/dissipators for lasers, decoys, and remotely-piloted MIRVs allowing for evasive action in real time.
Oh, and they'd be able to fit them on Cessnas.
Cheers!
Uhh...China knows about this already, that’s where Iran got it in the first place.
The reason being that China and Russia are likely to vote AGAISNT sanctions, while the US, and the two other nations(?) on the Security council will vote for sanctions. China and Russia, when sanctions come to a vote, will vote against.
Which brings up a question: In US courts, someone who has a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from a vote. (Yes, I know the US is corrupt and already have low expectations of ethical practices from them, but I’m wondering, why isn’t there any provision for disallowing votes from countries with obvious conflict of interest??) Anyone have any ideas?
Same problem during the deliberations about whether to attack Iraq: The French & Russians had large oil deals with Saddam, so, of course, the didn’t give a rat’s ass about the US’s concerns.
I kind of agree. What bothers me is that, in the past, I think Israel would have come to the US with that info and let the US work on China and Russia.
It's clear that Israel no longer has faith in the US to do the right thing.
Its going to bite Russia. China knows they can screw Russia later on by going along with them now. And China will.
Putin is a fool if he doesn’t at least suspect it.
The group, led by Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon and central bank chief Stanley Fischer, tried to persuade China to support sanctions on Iran by offering "the full intelligence picture available to Israel," the diplomat said. The Israeli officials also told the Chinese that a nuclear Iran would push up oil prices -- China depends on Iran...IOW, "go along with sanctions, or freeze in the dark."
Fischer is the reason the Israeli economy is doing so well.
