The White House is considering a new policy that would give an advantage in bids for billions in government contracts to companies that pay workers "living wages" and offer generous benefits.
WND has learned the "living wage" campaign has long been pushed by the radical Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and was largely initiated on a local level in the 1990s with the help of a socialist party of which evidence suggests Obama was a member.
Critics warn a living wage advantage for more than $500 billion in government contracts could harm small companies , with case studies showing cities that enacted similar policies in the 1990s faced major financial losses. Business groups who oppose the plan say also it would increase government procurement costs.
The Associated Press obtained documents outlining the White House plan. The documents reportedly show the government would examine the wages and benefits – such as health insurance, retirement benefits and paid leave – a firm pays its employees as a factor in the process of awarding government contracts. Another factor would be whether a contract bidder is a repeat violator of labor and employment laws.
A Labor Department compliance office would compile a score on contract bidders based on the criteria and then determine which companies would get government contracts.

And for the unemployed, $10,000/month benefits, for up to 10 years, is only fair.
Unemployed people have expenses too you know.
Free medical is a right.
Along with free housing, schooling, 60 days paid vacation, 1 year paid “maternity leave” for both spouses.
Etc etc.
Only fair and compassionate.
For the kids you know.
Besides, Obama doesn’t have to worry about the money. He can just print it.

Good Lord, what is it going to take to sink these freaks? I’ve got some idea’s...but gees, there must be a way with a great moral ending which enlightens all of the poor souls following the freak-a-zoid agenda.

If we continue with Obamunism, a "Living Wage" will be defined as a 5-pound sack of flour, or perhaps a small bundle of carrots or maybe a can of Spam, if you have the correct ration coupon for the particular day of the week.
I wonder which will prove more important - living wage or minority ownership?

All Fed bid spec's already require 'Prevailing Wages' for non union workers but this could lead to outright bloodshed.
Right now when there are Union Contractors and non-union contractors on the same project there's 'problems'. Verbal jibes and letter writing about voiding warranties.And then there's the teeny fact that the normal Bidders won't bid on Gubmint Contracts any more. As it is Three 'Qualified' Bids are required for Public Bids, or the process starts all over again.Add into the mix, this 'living wage' for some person, say an ex felon and Acorn contractor right out of the slammer, with a 6th grade education, no training at all and making the same as both of the other contractors.
Bullets will start flying.

If you are non union and it is a federal job, you can't bid period. Obama is stacking the deck with government workers...which we in the private sector pay for their perks and salaries.
ACORN, Obama's 'blankie", is a rogue organization...demand this congress stop using Fed $$$ to pay them!
One thing is obvious about Obama: No amount of failure will cause him to quit. It’s actually an admirable trait, and one we should emulate.
This proposal shows an utter lack of understanding on the sheer number of contract actions the federal government puts out on a yearly basis. All one has to do is go into the Federal Purchasing Data base to see the number of actions. For FY-07 over 9 million contract actions were reported with a value in excess of $440b. Today it is probably over 10m actions in excess of $500b. However, about 20% of all contract actions are not being reported in the Federal Purchasing Data base. So the total number is much larger. For example in 2007 the Veteran’s Administration reported almost 4m contract actions with a value of $12b. They felt the numbers were not accurate and brought in a private firm to document the spending. The final spend number was over $14b. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Therefore, if the Department of Labor is going to be the gate keeper to ensure those contract actions to commercial companies for goods and services comply with the proposed rules, our government will shut down. Our agencies do a poor job of contracting for goods and services and the contracting officers are swamped with work. This proposal makes a poor situation even worse. This will slow down the issuance of contracts and will put many small businesses out of business. This includes many Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a) firms and Native American Tribes, not to mention the Ability One (NIB/NISH) businesses as well. All government set aside, protected business entities. I own a small business that works with the Federal Agencies in driving down their costs for commercial services and services by leveraging their spending and outsourcing non-core functions. The program is highly effective (we actually save the agencies money) and one of the chief beneficiaries is these set aside businesses. All I can say is who let the children in the run the government.
