Israeli police clash with Palestinians in Jerusalem's Old City

Violence erupted at Jerusalem's holiest site on Sunday when Israeli riot police clashed with stone-throwing Palestinian protestors.

The most serious unrest in Jerusalem's sacred Old City in five months came after days of disturbances in the West Bank triggered by a declaration that two Jewish shrines on Palestinian territory would be declared Israeli heritage sites.

At least 14 protestors and four policemen were hurt during the clashes as battles raged both in the winding alleyways of Jerusalem's walled Old City and at the hilltop compound of the al-Aqsa mosque where the trouble first started.

Palestinians - the House of Esau - chuck stones at Israeli riot cops.

According to Israeli police, Palestinian protesters inside the al-Aqsa mosque, held by Muslims to mark the spot that the Prophet Mohammed ascended into Heaven, threw stones at a group of tourists visiting the compound.

The false prophet Muhammad never ascended into heaven, but descended into hell. One day, the Israelis would bomb both the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock in fulfillment of Obadiah 1:15-18.

Some Jewish spiritual leaders have called on their followers to increase their presence on the compound on festival days as part of a campaign one day to rebuild the Temple. Such calls have been condemned by most Israeli religious and political leaders.

Somewhere in the Book of Ezekiel, a few chapters cover the construction of the coming Third Temple.

Never bring stones to a tear gas fight, or something like that.

The primary weapon for a Palestinian is a stone. Secondary weapon is an AK-47.

The Israeli riot cops wouldn’t be using their nightsticks if the Palestian stone throwers were not within knife range.

Just an observation on the scene. The soldiers stationed at Tzomet Hagush (Gush Etzion Junction) are now wearing bullet proof vests and combat helmets, and asking everyone who approaches questions to gauge their reactions, occasionally asking people to open their coats (Pali who was asked complied with a smile on his face, and was let pass).
