Sen. John McCain brushed aside questions about his primary challenger's views on the ideology of the Obama administration Sunday, saying he had enough dealing with his own "misstatements."
McCain faces former Rep. J.D. Hayworth in his home state of Arizona for the GOP Senate nomination. McCain was asked on NBC's "Meet the Press" about statements on Hayworth's website that refer to the White House's "socialist agenda."
"Do you think that goes too far?" host David Gregory asked McCain.
"Look, you'll have to have Mr. Hayworth on to explain the things he says," McCain said. "There is no doubt in my mind America's a right of center nation and this administration is governing from the left. That's why the president's approval ratings continue to decline."
Gregory pressed McCain to comment on the words of Hayworth, a radio and television personality whose campaign site pitches him as "The Consistent Conservative."

More McCAin foot in mouth...
Senator John McCain made a jingoistic off-cuff joke during President Obama’s health summit yesterday. “There’s two examples right now of medical malpractice reform that is working. One’s called California, the other called — called Texas,” he said. “I won’t talk about California, because the Arizonans hate California, because they’ve stolen our water,” he said before going on about Texas.
Oh really, Mr. McCain? That’s funny because you’re proposing to steal water from Colorado and wait... don’t you own three homes in California and Colorado? Hrmmmm...”

Since McLame sees himself as a conservative, maybe he could rein in his lapdog Linseed. /sarc
You sound like another mislead McCainiac to me. McCain no longer has the mental faculties to be an effective Senator.
I respect his service, but it's past time for him to step aside.
The only time I ever supported McCain was in 2008 election. In 2008 my objective was to keep Obama out of the White House.
But the American people can see how much better the Dems are doing with any of it - zero - and will thrown them out in turn, this November. American democracy is alive and well.
where was blood and guts mccain in 2008?
Actually, FDR was the most destructive leader the US has ever employed. His causes plague us to this day. Obama doesn’t know what he is doing. FDR did.
Here's what I see. Do we agree obama hasn't done anything? Nada, nothing. I'll will tell you I think McCain would have led us further down a destructive path by coddling the liberals to appear bipartisan. We would have some form of this HC crapolla by now if McCain were President, and that's worse.
I don't know what I was thinking to have voted against whatshisname. I won't make that mistake again.
Juan likes to dance to the socialism tune too.
Fine, think that way. Keep voting for LOSERS, see how far you get! McCain would have been worse for different reasons than you can imagine. Because of your narrow focus blinds you. We want the same thing, but it looks like we differ on how to get it.
We are now going to educate Muslims about space. Have you read about that?
