President Obama said Saturday he is ready to compromise with Republicans on health care if they are serious about it, but that an overhaul must go forward.
"Let's get this done," he said.
Obama's comments in his weekly Internet and radio address, two days after an all-day bipartisan summit across from the White House, were the latest sign that Democrats are getting set to try to pass health care legislation without any Republicans on board.
Success will require colossal efforts on the part of Obama and Democratic leaders to round up votes after a year of corrosive debate and a Senate special-election upset that threw the overhaul effort into limbo last month. But Obama and the Democrats reject the piecemeal approach sought by Republicans and have no intention of scrapping their 10-year, $1 trillion bill and starting over, as the GOP demands.

I demand that with a simple majority after next November that we ram through the end of the Dept of Education and all other needless depts and agencies the Democrats have set up over the years. Stop funding ACORN related agencies. Create an anti-union atmosphere. Demand payback from all of the banks..........

No, this is the latest sign the Dims have no hope of passing this monstrosity. They can't get the votes in the House to pass the Senate bill to get the ball rolling. They lost almost any chance of getting enough votes in the House when Senator Scott Brown crushed Martha Coakley in the bluest of blue states, Massachusetts.
If they had the votes in the House, they'd have rammed this thing through a long time ago, because every day that they wait is a day closer to election day in November, and a day further away from being able to convince enough House Dims to commit political suicide. (Notice how all of the rhetoric on this subject is emanating from the White House, and almost none from the Congressional rank-and-file Dims? That's because they're petrified with fear.)
Ever since the Massachusetts Miracle, all the Obamunists have been doing is delaying the inevitable, hoping for change, and trying to put off as long as possible that moment in which the Obama Presidency is officially declared to be dead. All the Pubs have to do is hang tough for a few more weeks.
All this flailing about and jawboning by the Obamunists is simply the death throes of a dying Presidency, and when the crash comes, it's going to be a big one, because the Obamunists have strung the country out for so long on the issue. Consequently, a lot of people are going to be really pissed! The leftists will be pissed because they've been suckered into holding their breath for so long, and then all of a sudden their hope for change will go poof in the instant when they're told, oh by the way, there's no more air. And the centrists and independents are going to be pissed when they realize the Obamunists have simply been doing nothing but fiddling the health care takeover tune the whole time the U.S. economy is burning to the ground.
Watching the death of a Presidency is quite fasinating, actually, and ..... Oh, darn, I'm out of popcorn again. Guess I'll see if my wife is willing to pop us another batch!
I like your suggestion! Enough to toss it at any liberal coworkers who advocate for reconciliation. It is a safe bet that it never occured to them that the democrats are opening Pandora’s Box. At the very least I will get a chuckle watching them stammer and turn purple.

There is a very strong pattern developing in this Administration of making contradictory messages over the course of days, weeks, and months. It is not the kind of well-managed “trianglation” trial balloons that Clinton used to fly; these people are just completely disorganized, and unhinged. We’re at the point where no one, not even their supporters, believes anything they say, because everyone knows that they don’t even know what they think.
This will go down as the worst presidency in American history.
Obama’s resolve is crumbling. The reconciliation vote was a bluff. Now’s the time the Republicans should be standing firm. For once.
