Something's seriously wrong at York University (Israel Apartheid Week)

Next week, York University will once again open its halls and classrooms to “Israel Apartheid Week,” so-called. This year as every year, militants and activists will use the taxpayer-funded facilities of York to vilify the Jewish state.

Well, that’s free speech, isn’t? Everybody gets to express his or her point of view, no matter how obnoxious, right?

No, not right. Not at York. At York, speech is free — better than free, subsidized — for anti-Israel haters. But for those who would defend Israel, York sets very different rules.

The left has always hated the Jews, for the simple reason that the Jews already have a belief system that isn’t theirs. For the left, that’s enough to start the hate.

This is a oxymoron--there are multitudes of powerful leftist Jews. Noam Chomsky, Harvard prof; Rahm and Ezekiel Emanuel; Barbara Boxer; Diane Feinstein; Russ Feingold; Frank Lautenburg(I believe--either he or Leahey or both);George Soros-- the list is huge.Considering the Jewish population in the US, there is an outrageous % of Jewish Reps and Senators. Since Norm Coleman left, there may be only 9, but I do not knnow them all. 9 would equal 9% of Senators.

I have never understood how they could be Socialist/Communist when these idiologies have been so bad for them as a people.

I suppose they see it as a power bid for themselves.

Frankly, I just do not get your post. I did not say ALL Jews are leftists. I did not say I do not believe they are God's chosen people.

I merely wondered at the great number of them that have come to a country of freedom and enterprise and want to change it into the kind of government that has consistently dennigrated and destroyed the Jews--i.e. Socialist/communist/fascist.

Of course “chosen” for many non-Jews means Jewish supremacism. The Jewish religion saying to Jews that they better than everyone else. That Jews think they are the best. While its real meaning is they are chosen by God to keep a covenant with Him

1— Jewish liberalism comes from a (oft misguided) desire to help others. Often done the wrong way. Jews have a long history of helping and defending oppressed people including themselves
2— Jewish leftism is a holdover from Europe where many Jews were socialists and leftists and has been inherited from grandparents and parents

My post meant that if you have to chose between Jews and Islam what is your choice? You say you don’t have to make a choice?

Between Christianity and Islam I will chose Christianity every time. Me being Jewish. Even though through history there have been many pogroms and slaughters and oppressions against Jews by various Christian entities Supposedly Martin Luther was virulently antiSemetic. Still in the end I cheer for all Christian everywhere who are up against the Islamic monster. That could be Chechnya, Kosovo, Philippines, Lebanon, Europe, everywhere
