“Actually, Mao’s summation of the philosophy established earlier by the U.S. Founding Fathers is more accurate: “Power comes from the barrel of a gun.”
Like “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”, a gun without a determined person’s hand has no power.
Unfortunately right now they have bigger guns and we haven’t been pushed far enough. But when push finally comes to shove, when PEOPLE have finally had enough, history has shown that anything at their disposal will work - rocks, knives, pitchforks, bare hands, fertilizer... even suicide bombers.
Having said that, I’m all in favor of people having guns and just about anything else they want for self defense - this will insure that the pushing stays to a minimum.
