Navy smart to sink sexism

The long-standing ban on stationing female sailors in submarines is about to become a thing of the past. This week the Pentagon sent a letter to lawmakers telling them of this change in Navy policy, adding that the first female officers will probably start appearing on nuclear submarines by next year.

This is one more step forward for women in the military, although the ban on females serving in certain combat positions still remains intact. Women now make up some 15 percent of the all-volunteer services, and have become crucial to keeping the nation’s military operational.

She is making the claim that the 15% ("large number") of voluntees who are women is the reason we don't have a military draft?

They either fly the pregnant women off the Carriers or drop them in port. I wonder if the Subs will have to surface or put in to offload their preggies?

So now the Navy guy gets married and spends months on board the sub and his new wife is going to react how?

So says another “expert” who learned all she knows about the military from watching Star Trek, and hasn’t spent a day on a submarine.

Only a liberal would think this is a good idea. How much is it going to cost the Navy to modify the Subs for women? Liberalism is a mental disorder..

The last function performed by the Feds that I respected was maintaining our armed forces. If they are going to ruin that with social experimentation and underfunding, then that will mean to me that the covenant between me and the Government created by our founding fathers, codified in the US Constitution no longer binding. (at least on me). Waiting for the big split. Were is the exit?

and hasn’t spent a day on a submarine. Hell, she hasn’t spent a day of reality in her entire life. More PC insanity by the Navy.

More Bonnie:But really, the “killer” whale’s deadly attack in Florida this week raises a much larger question: What in the heck are humans doing keeping undomesticated and “killer” animals in captivity to begin with?

Bonnie, did you ever stop to think about that statement? It could apply equally to our prison system!

Where to begin? I would like to know where the writer gets her “hundreds of women” joining the fighting ranks assertion from regarding both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars? There were certainly several women who dressed as men to participate, but hardly hundreds. Most of the women who did this wanted to join their husbands or boyfriends on the battlefield. Once they were discovered, usually at the infirmary, they were promptly given women’s clothing and told to leave. Interesting accounts of women during these wars exist and of the sacrifice and support they gave their husbands which shows them to have acted selflessly and with heroism. This does not mean that women should join the military and fight with men. Placing females amongst men in a submarine is not only lethal but immoral. What kind of argument does this author pose when she tries to support it by threatening an impending draft if women did not serve in the military? Is this not an example of a circular argument which is a logical fallacy?

A submarine makes several stops during a deployment, so I would think that in most cases, they would make arrangements to replace a pregnant women during one of their stops several weeks before her due date. If they are in the middle of the ocean and there is a need for immediate medical attention, they would meet up with the nearest surface ship.

As best I can tell, aboard a sub, any member of the crew can sink the vessel and kill everyone aboard.

The evidence will be at the bottom of the ocean when the inevitable male female/triangle/homosexual relation results in a crazed crew member sinking the sub with all hands..

Damn the eyes of the Immoral Faux Admirals that for the sake of their next promotion and acceptance in the “Right Circles” in Washington will knowingly allow this to occur..

America’s Modern GQ, PC Pretty Boy Generals and Admirals for whom Victory is not an option will be the rumination of the US Military.. Betraying the tradition of excellence and courage that goes back to the beginning of this nation.

At least Benidict Arnold had the Guts to be a traitor and openly change sides. These worthless sacks lack even that degree of courage or Honor.
