How far did you get in Hop on Pop? Did you hit a big word and give up?

You also might take that minus sign out in front of -43% in the title. While Obama is pretty unpopular, I doubt his popularity will ever be -43%.

>> The index jumped from -11 to -17 and a few days later we saw the most recent jump from -15 to -20. Those were big jumps and they were close together. For the first 5 cases we can see how the polling went post-big-jump. In every single case the big-jump turned out to be a temporary bump and the Index returned within a few days to it’s pre-big-jump value. Every single time <<

Interesting! I’ll bet there’s a “three-day pattern” lurking in those data — maybe with some sort of Nerlovian distributed lag. Wish I had the statistical chops to figure it out!

On the other hand, it’s easy to take some imaginary-but-plausible numbers and experiment, in order to generate similar results.

For example, use your spreadsheet to array a long column of numbers (say, n = 50) that cluster random around 15 with amaximum deviation of two or three points. I use numbers with one decimal point, but integers would be OK as well.

Next, arbitrarily change one of your numbers to 20. Then move at least ten numbers up or down your column and arbitrary change another number to 10.

Finally, calculate a three-number moving average for your entire column. At that point you’ll see exactly how there are two “three-day anomalies” that stick out like the proverbial sore thumbs.

I hope you realize that your arguments are vapid and meaningless. (Or isn't your IQ high enough to even understand what that means?)

In response to your inanity, I will continue to post facts. President Bush, as a student of history, reads books of depth and intricacy, in addition to reading Scripture through in a year (not exactly a child's book, teg). And a Harvard MBA, when he received it, was a difficult degree, and achieving it requires intelligence. In addition, it has been verified that the jets he flew (with strong commendations), required a high degree of intelligence to master.

Now, you may continue to be a willing victim of leftist propaganda, but you only make yourself look weak and foolish.

And reveal yourself to be lacking in fundamental intellect. Which, of course, is no shock to anyone who has read any of your posts.

FYI...when you personally attack someone when making an argument it really weakens what you’re trying to say. Please don’t waste your time responding as I won’t be reading it. Have a nice day.

I'm not sure this one's an elitist, altura.

I think he may be one fry short of a happy meal. ;)

But your point about libs and elitists is on the money. They think Obama has a high IQ because he's a snob. They don't realize that between those ears, there's a whole lot of empty space.

You had no argument. And I don't need to make one.

President Bush is an intelligent man. Period.

Disagree with his politics if you will, but stop using the leftist propaganda argument that he's stupid.

And have a nice day, yourself, teg.

Read a book, and try to keep up with President Bush. :)

You may be in awe of those with a Harvard MBA

btw, this is a personal insult from you to me.

Just keeping the record straight after your whining about how I responded to it.

And Bush didn't "set the table" for Obama. There has never been a greater contrast in two Presidents than in George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Polar opposites, they are. Polar opposites. One with great character and integrity, the other with zero.

Oops! A mistake in my post no. 83. I should have known better than to recount my “experiment” from memory!

Anyway, the pentultimate paragraph should say:

“Next, arbitrarily change one of your numbers to 25. Then move at least ten numbers up or down your column and arbitrarily change another number to 10.”

Okay, I admit it, I read your response :)

Anyways, I guess we can agree to disagree. I doubt there’s too many other things we disagree on...politically speaking.

And I apologize for the personal stuff. Shame on me. NO excuses.

“Bush was a fine President. “

I’d have to disagree. Fine Presidents defend the country.

“Better than any of his opponents,”

Yes. Of course, that’s damning him with faint praise.

“I didn’t agree, and in fact vehemently DISAGREED with, some of what Bush did (CFR & TARP most prominently)...but he is a decent man who cut taxes, killed terrorists, and put two good men on the SCOTUS.”

He cut taxes, but did nothing about spending. Killed some terrorists and funded/supported others. He had to be forced to put one of those men on the USSC.

He was a big government liberal Republican.

“Too bad he didn’t read anything on how not spend the country into bankruptcy. Like it or not, he set the table for what Obama is doing now.”

A good economics book might’ve helped. Thomas Sowell’s perhaps? Maybe the Federalist Papers or anything by Jefferson? Too much depth and intricacy?

“You may be in awe of those with a Harvard MBA, but Reagan proved a Bachelors degree at Eureka college is enough to be president.”

MBAs pretty much require just attendance to get a gentleman’s C. Even at Harvard.

Reagan made the end of Communism his goal in life. He worked toward that end. I’m not sure where Bush’s overriding urge to be President came from... Perhaps he viewed it as the “family business”. I’m sure Jeb and his racist son do. Whatever his reasons or goals, there is nothing honorable in violating the oath of office. Good men defend the country. Bush didn’t. He was just another globalist tool.

Nirvana isn’t required. A non-globalist, non-big-government, President is.

Indeed. Noobs going around screaming that proven conservatives are "liberals" when they've never lifted a finger to elect a conservative in their little lives. Defining what conservatism is, when as far as we know, they're Obama trolls.

(You're dealing with one of the phoniest of the phonies right now on this thread. Best get out before you get so irritated that you start swinging. ;)

I don’t expect much from politicians. I expect them to adhere to the contract we have with the government to the best of their ability.

In other words, I expect them to do their damn jobs.

Apparently, that’s too much for you mushy moderates.
