House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday said that she is running the most ethical Congress in history.

Asked at a press conference whether or not her Congress is the most ethical in light of new findings that Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) broke House rules, Pelosi responded "We are."

But Pelosi dodged on whether or not she would officially discipline Rangel, who helms the powerful Ways and Means Committee.

After Democrats reclaimed the majority in the House of Representatives in 2006, Pelosi, who at the time was poised to become speaker, said "the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history."

What about allowing the buying of votes. Something just seems wrong about agreeing to change your principled vote, just because you are offered money for your home district. How is that any different than being a prostitute?

I personally think it should be a federal offense to vote based upon the amount of dollars used to buy you off. But that is just me. Of course, I am an ethical person.

I'm sorry but this asshat has been in Congress for decades. If he didn't know he was breaking the rules then he is either too addled, too stupid or too corrupt to be on the Ways and Means committee, let alone Congress.
