What about allowing the buying of votes. Something just seems wrong about agreeing to change your principled vote, just because you are offered money for your home district. How is that any different than being a prostitute?
I personally think it should be a federal offense to vote based upon the amount of dollars used to buy you off. But that is just me. Of course, I am an ethical person.

She noted that the report said Rangel didn’t know he was violating rules regarding a lobbyist-funded trip to the Caribbean. I'm sorry but this asshat has been in Congress for decades. If he didn't know he was breaking the rules then he is either too addled, too stupid or too corrupt to be on the Ways and Means committee, let alone Congress.
Do your duty, Nazi, remove him from the committee. (yeah, sure...mote, eye, etc.)
