Environmental activists have blasted Harrison Ford for making "unnecessary" trips by air, following revelations he once made a jet journey to buy a cheeseburger.
The "Indiana Jones" star began flying when he was 52. After receiving his license, he went on to purchase several aircraft, which he keeps at Santa Monica Airport in California.

"Get off my plane!"
The comments are magnificent. Even the liberals are ripping Dr. Buckley a new one!
Ah but he IS an environmentalist loonie- and what he does IS their business- just as what we do is his-and theirs. They know how it looks for one of their own to talk the talk, but not walk the walk. He makes the ‘movement’ look bad, and they know that WE know it’s all BS.
This is Ford being slapped into line by his own kind.
I love to see hypocrites disciplining each other.
There is some poster in a mall near where I live with Ford shilling for some watch company with the slogan “time to save the planet”. Ford is a big time leftist idiot so I say keep it going Dr. Wendy. He deserves every attack you launch at him.
Maybe it was a Royale with Cheese and he got the recommendation from John Travolta (also known for his unnecessary flying).
Yup. Mr. Cronkite was the ultimate authority.
Yup.

IMHO
Exactly! This is one environmental leftist being slapped into line by his fellow whack jobs. They DO have the right to call him to task. It gets ugly when they turn on one of their own- he’d better to the line. It just won’t do to have their ‘special privileges’ lifestyles so blatantly exposed.
He is a well known pot head and has many pipe dreams that you have described
Ford is not enough of an elitist snob to get away with flying his own airplanes randomly around the country just for fun. He is not in the in-crowd apparently. It's not about the flying and emissions it's about who you are and who you know ...
But to THEM the flying IS necessary- because it’s them! They think of personal jets like we think of the family station wagon- except WE are pigs for driving our gas guzzlers for such unnecessary things as groceries and going to work. Ford and his ilk preach bicycles and walking and doing WITHOUT for all of us- but not for themselves.
p.s.- Xp38, eh? Own a used speeder lot, do ya? lol
It’s about walking the walk, if you’re gonna talk the talk. He’s not the worst, but it’s a start. Let’s call’em out and take’em down one at a time.
A man with two faces has twice as many enemies.
From the article:
He [Mr. Ford] recently revealed in an interview the extent of his love for piloting, telling Britain’s Live magazine, “Learning to fly was a work of art. I’m so passionate about flying I often fly up the coast for a cheeseburger. Flying is like good music; it elevates the spirit and it’s an exhilarating freedom.”
IOW He’s using it the same way some people listen to music, or jog, or write, or whatever. At least, though, he’s using his own money.
(It's because of the metric system.....)
I’ll hop in the plane and fly to dinner or lunch wherever I want!!
Enviros can go to hell!!!
So true....
If Ford flew to St. Louis to visit the Fatted Calf for one of their cheeseburgers, then all is understood and forgiven. Who could blame him?
Not to mention Gore's jetting around the world in his private jet. And Nancy in her 757. The list is endless.
Yep! There is nothing quite like that "$100 hamburger"...:o)
This is an old tradition for those of us that have airplanes. It’s called the $100 hamburger. We often go in groups. Here’s a website for this purpose. www.100dollarhamburger.com
