33 years in as a state employee, 25 which were as a state trooper. Somebody with that amount of time in service is almost never fired from state service no matter what they do. They are just strongly advised to retire for any wrongdoing. The state must think they have a really strong case or they will quickly be facing an age discrimination suit.

the agency will not release any records related to the firing, citing a provision in the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act....He spoke anonymously — his name was not used in the articles — but his identity later became public.

So he was outed... by an organization that was not supposed to disclose information...
