Great rallying cry!
Your mother sounds like a remarkable person. I’m sorry to hear about the brain tumor and the resulting personality changes; that’s very hard on everyone. But it seems if your mother was a woman of great faith and I am sure this helped through it all.
Let’s definitely defeat it for Mom!
We *do* have the best health care in the world.
My mom was in nursing school when they taught nurses to do massage.
Of course, you don’t get that now.
She remembered her first ever bed bath...this is a funny story that’s politically incorrect.
Mom had to give her first bed bath...she had to give it to a very BLACK woman . (Now don’t go thinkin’ my parents were racist...they were Goldwater Republicans and we all know that Republicans aren’t racist...because we believe ANYONE should be able to succeed and prosper...)
Anyway...Mom was apparently, visibly nervous...and this black woman sensed it...she said, “Honey, you nervous??” And my mom said, “This is the first time I have given a bed bath.”
And the woman said, “Oh, honeychild....don’t worry...they aren’t gonna be able to tell if you get ME clean!”
I like that story.
I worked the front desk of a Trauma Center for five years and I have plenty of opinions about healthcare...but no one asks.
