I have heard of several folks who died from a tooth/jaw infection that goes straight to the brain.

If anything, this should be a reminder to everyone to get that twice yearly dental checkup from a competent dentist.

Many Universities with dental schools give free or reduced price exams and cleanings to all, esp. senior citizens.

Yes, dear husband and I go twice a year for cleanings, etc. Course, we BUY OUR OWN dental insurance.

Yes, my dear friend uses the Dental School for her cleanings. Saves her a good deal of money.

I happened to have an oral surgery consult just yesterday about a dental implant. The brochure to explain it started out by saying the Egyptian pharaohs harvested teeth from dead slaves and poor people (at least I HOPE they were dead). I hope the Dims do not have this brochure...

I have an abscess in one of my root-canaled and capped teeth that I just paid $2000 for last year! The dentist put me on antibiotics last week, but all this talk about brain infections is freaking me out!
