You who agree with this should try legally to stop someone from doing something crazy you think he might do.

Good luck with getting a court order to stop someone you think has gone off the deep end but has done absolutely nothing yet to demonstrate it.

Nor can I. I base that on the delusional idea that the law is just and moral.

Which I stated earlier isn’t.

Youv’e got me in a corner now.

How come some wives think that their husbands should be able to read their minds?

You don't read our minds. You read our facial expressions. Some guys prefer to look at the boobs instead, as they look far more friendly than the scowling, seething face above it.

This thread is about nothing. It looks like CNN screwed the story up (big surprise!).

The real story is here:

http://www.kvue.com/home/The-family-of-plane-crash-victim-files-lawsuit-to-prevent-release-of-autopsy-information-85151597.html

It seems the real defendant is Stack's estate, of which Sheryl is the presumed executor. And the objective isn't money, but rather to provide a context for the issuance of a restraining order to prevent the release of the victim's autopsy details.

According to some one this thread, the pilot's wife is an innocent victim. Is not the moral and just thing for the insurance to pay this 'innocent victim'? To deny payment to an 'innocent victim' would be NOT moral.

According to a Deed of Trust (public records), Stack was single in May 2007.

The person whose life was "insured" is the deceased killer. Now, if the Stack widow were to die, naturally, and had life insurance, you'd probably take that money from her young orphan and hand it over to the IRS widow.

Talk about lack of mercy..................

That is true. Unless they do something to prove they are a "danger to self or others" you will bat zero trying to get them any help.

The only thing one could do is warn a potential victim, and even that carries risks.

I see that rule as a deterrent to bad behavior.

Seems like a simple law, that would prevent abuse.

But who knows what Joe Stack was thinking? The man was flat out crazy.

How do you write laws against crazy?

How many times has a grieving widow been told not to make any major decisions in the short term?

She had to act quickly:

You were the one that agreed that money should not go to OJ’s daughter. Now you are speculated what I might do.

I never mentioned, nor commented on, OJ's daughter.

You cite the incorrect poster.

According to some one this thread, the pilot's wife is an innocent victim.

In all criminal cases, you are innocent until proven guilty, and so far I have not seen any indication that she was a co-conspirator and profited in any way from this crime.

There is nothing more cowardly than suicide. It takes a brave person to face their problems and deal with them.

Of course the statement made by Stack’s daughter could have put her over the edge. Didn’t mean to imply that it couldn’t because she wasn’t Mrs. Stack’s daughter.

I take no issue with any emotion felt by Mrs Hunter, nor do I question any desire to extract a pound of flesh. Her husband was murdered. Those emotions are normal, IMHO. She still has to be in shock.

I do take issue with anyone exploiting the emotions of a widow still shock because there might be a payday down the road.

Have some freakin' mercy on our galactic ignorance and educate us. Have some freakin' mercy on our galactic ignorance and educate us.

OK. Now that you have the facts please apologize the the grieved widow.

www.kvue.com

Tuesday, the attorney for Hunter's widow filed a wrongful death lawsuit with a temporary restraining order to prevent the public release of Hunter's autopsy.

"The family wanted the autopsy report on Mr. Hunter to remain private," said Daniel Ross, the attorney representing Hunter's family.

Ross said the family was concerned about graphic details about Hunter's death being released.

"Mr. Hunter had 8 grandchildren at various ages and they simply did not want any of them reading the details of the autopsy," Ross said.

Legally, there could have been no temporary restraining order without a lawsuit. That's why the wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the estate of Joe Stack. The suit names Stack's wife, Sheryl, as the administrator or executor of that estate, which is also required by law according to Ross. Ross said he did not alert Mrs. Stack about the suit because he didn't know how to reach her.

"My client of course has stated that her heart goes out to Mrs. Stack and she considers Mrs. Stack as much a victim in this as anyone else," Ross said.

Your speculation is based on your emotions and not consistent with the facts.
