[Hazleton, PA] City office of Planned Parenthood shuts down

Citing tough economic times and a lack of funding, Planned Parenthood of Northeast and Mid-Penn closed its Hazleton office Friday and will now look to pool resources with its larger office in Wilkes-Barre.

...Planned Parenthood served women in the Hazleton community for nearly 30 years, offering numerous services including Pap smears, breast exams, pregnancy tests, STD tests, birth control and emergency contraception.

"The decision to close is a difficult one, and one that we regret having to make," President and CEO Kim Custer said in a press release. "As a result of inadequate funding for the services provided, Planned Parenthood could no longer sustain the services in this location."

..."This decision will help focus our resources more efficiently to continue to provide critical health care throughout the state," Custer said.

Recently, funding problems coupled with the troubled economy forced the office to hold clinics only one day a week. In the past, Planned Parenthood was also an avenue that teenagers could explore when birth control or emergency contraception was an issue, and could not afford to pay for it through a traditional pharmacy....

How strange. No mention of abortion. The article makes it sound like the dying of a beloved old bakery. *Sniff.*

Read it again. The vermin refer to it as “emergency contraception.”

I would consider helping out their community in doing volunteer work for “breast exams” between the ages of 20 to 39 years of age. Anything to help the community.
