Study: NY, NJ To Pay 25% Of New Obama Health Tax Save For Gillibrand, Democratic Lawmakers Run For The Hills; Junior Senator Criticizes President Revamped Plan Reporting Marcia Kramer NEW YORK (CBS) ―

President Barack Obama's new health care plan really socks it to New York taxpayers and its bad news for residents of New Jersey and Connecticut, too.

The numbers are eye-popping. President Obama's plan to tax investment income to pay for his health care package would force New Yorkers to fork over an additional $4.8 billion in taxes on money they get from interest, dividends and other investments.

But here's the rub: a study by the Manhattan Institute finds that New Yorkers will pay 12 percent to 15 percent of all the funds raised by the new investment tax. New Jersey residents will pay 7 to 9 percent. That's nearly 25 percent of the entire tax.

The hit to area taxpayers is so staggering that experts wonder how our congressmen and senators can support it.

This thing is a full scale disaster.

I wonder if the repubs will have the cajones to overturn this monstrosity?

That's the idea behind Obamacare. They just want to present it in a prettier package.

This is nothing compared to the very bloody civil war that will come from this insanity.

A free People can be pushed only so far... there will be a horrible backlash.

The Republicans won’t have to muster much to kill this beast. The fact the Rats likeRangel will not even return phone calls from the press to explain this ripoff should signal that the Rats now know their big money donors are going be pissed as well as the voters. No politician who wants to get re-elected would go against both their donors and the voters.

This plan could turn a few Blue State’s into Red States come November. But- will the Pubbies have the spine to overturn this mess if given the chance?

Why not? The “retired folks” vote Democrat religiously. Let them have some of the fun. I don’t really care who they vote for,I just hate it when they inflict the sobs on me.

More “Hope and Change” coming soon to NJ and NY residents in the form of higher taxes. Should bring a warm and fuzzy feeling to Obama fans.

I guess since we have a Republican governor now, Obama doesn’t care much for NJ anymore.
