Appropriately written by one of the father’s of the New Left. C. Wright Mills can rot, but I still find it amazing that he would commute to Columbia all the way from Saugerties on his Indian.

Do you feel you, as an individual, have power over even the course of events taking place in your . . . county?

Mills was wrong about a lot of stuff, but what I quoted was, IMHO, a right-on assessment of the political world in which we are trapped. Mills got that right, didn’t he?
