Host vs. Host: Limbaugh, Levin Pummel Beck
The Atlantic Wire ^ | 02/24/10 | Jake Simpson

Posted on 02/24/2010 12:59:45 PM PST by writer33

Virtually unknown a year ago, Glenn Beck has rapidly risen to the top of the right-wing punditocracy. Witness his keynote address at CPAC, where the Fox News titan assailed Republicans and Democrats alike and called for a return to bedrock conservative values. Though conservatives bloggers were nonplussed by Beck's attacks on the right, most praised at least some elements of his speech.

Some of the people involved are not exactly Beck fans

All the momentum that we've got going right now is just going to hit a brick wall if a third party starts, particularly on the basis that there's 'no difference between the two parties.'

Good pic! Rush, it’s not 1985 anymore! Or ‘95 or 2000. Why don’t you mention Hussein’s extreme ‘tolerance’ of Muslims? And his statements about a million-strong force as well-trained and better than our military? Just for starters.

Since you have no idea what I am doing or involved with, I guess I have to give you great marks for attempted clairvoyance, but since it’s a failed attempt, that one silly old “aw, sh!t” more than wipes out your attaboy. Too bad, so sad,

So all you’re gonna do is assure WHOEVER the Old Party puts up that your vote is theirs no matter what? Good thinking if all you want is more of the same. Because I can assure you that they will have ZERO motivation to make ANY substantive changes, knowing that people like you are theirs for the taking, and that you will bully, berate, belittle and misbehave until you think you’ve got everyone else back on the plantation with you. It’s ONLY IF they aren’t SURE they’re gonna get reelected that they’ll make any attempt to change their behavior in any meaningful way. But all of you “party over principle” types don’t seem to care very much, do you?

THAT is what the TEA Party movement is about: PRINCIPLES BEFORE PARTIES. You know, having core beliefs that are NOT up for sale to the highest bidder. Or maybe you really DON’T know, never having been exposed to them. Poor you, if that’s the case. But maybe YOUR chains will rest lighter knowing that it was YOUR guy who drove the final nails into the coffin of our Republic.

You’re preaching to a stone wall. There are way too many folks here who REFUSE to hear the truth, thinking that somehow that magical *R* talisman after someone’s name, no matter WHO it is, will win the day and we’ll all live happily and prosperously forever more. And the party you were addressing is one of the biggest “party uber alles” types there is. There are any number who’ll support McLame or Romney, just because they’re “electable,” no matter HOW Democrat their behavior is. It’s a sad, sick game they play, and we Constitutional Conservatives always take it in the shorts from them.

"In the Primary elect the most conservative Republican you can, and in the General vote Republican CONSERVATIVE.

There, THAT is what we need. No matter WHAT, if any, "party" label.

Good grief, where to start with you.

First, principles are just fine, but you didn't happen to mention them. You might want to try and convince us what principles might be more important than derailing the radical crazies and anti-American fools that the democrats have become. They are the enemy, and I'm sorry, there is a huge difference, and just because Beck says there isn't a difference doesn't make it so. The first principle is that the dems are an enemy, and they have to be defeated.

No one here is saying don't push the GOP to get better, rather, get involved and try to influence them. The tea party by itself can't do much of anything, but take that energy and challenge the GOP, and you might get rid of a lot of the evils that are standing against conservative principles.

Anyone who doesn't understand that the GOP can still be influenced and that the dems are an enemy that needs to be destroyed should have to get their brains examined.

Re: your tagline... someone is being much too generous, or maybe it’s inflation rearing its ugly head again, but I would put it at no more than a NICKEL’S worth of difference on the national level. And even THAT may be more than generous.

Locally, I know a couple of great conservative republicans, one of whom asked me for my endorsement in her bid for an assembly seat. Not only did I endorse her, publicly, but I shall work for her both in the primary and the General.

No, emotional ranter. What leads you to project your juvenile insecurites on me?

I have already donated to conservative challengers running in Republican primaries, have you?

Although my business is none of yours, I will cite you one example: I have donated to Marco Rubio, (have you?) and maybe you will recall that the “party” endorsed Charlie Crist?

As for entrenched fossil incumbents, I can cite another example: I have sent JD Hayworth a check to help him in his quest to defeat McCain in Arizona, have you?
