I figured his spokesmen would keep hammering the Birther thing, but a full-blown ad replete with cameo by Orly Taitz? Quoth Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
My feelings about Birtherism are well known and, needless to say, this is an efficient way of marginalizing Hayworth with undecided centrists who might otherwise be weary of decades of maverickiness. (Geraghty was moved this morning to note Hayworths willingness to make chitchat with the John Birch Society.)
But I hope McCains prepared to explain why hes ready to go bareknuckle on Hayworth by linking him to Taitz when he refused to go bareknuckle on The One by linking him to Rev. Wright.
The single biggest knock on his campaign among grassroots righties was that he pulled his punches against Obama after years of straight talk about Republicans and conservatives.
I guess he figures, a la Romney, he doesnt have a prayer with grassroots righties anyway and can afford to shrug off their irritation over the double standard, but hes going to be asked about it. Wonder what the explanation will be..

McCain treated Obama like a beloved brother during the 2008 presidential campaign. Said we should not be afraid of an Obama presidency.
But he treats Hayworth like an Enemy of the Republic.
That sums up the kind of Republican McCain is.
Wow! A rational, well thought-out post.

The Republican Party is complicit in Obamas coup d’état. They became a party to the conspiracy, and the Democrats compromised the Republican candidate when Leahy and company “resolved” that John McCain was/is a “natural born” citizen. He isnt, and was/is equally ineligible to serve as CiC.
The Democrats neutered McCain who never said a word about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Alice Palmer, and the rest of the communists, socialists, black nationalists, and other assorted dirtbags that form Obamas closest and longest lasting relationships and associations.
Most members of Congress are attorneys. The judges too. They all studied the Constitution. They know the law (at least enough to pass the bar). They know Obama is ineligible, but they made a deal with the devil and now have to live with it.
Why is this a bad ad? Seems fair and balanced to me.
I sure wish I lived in Arizona so I could nuke McCain and his lazy_ass lies and vote for JD. I would love to vote for JD!
if you don’t live in Az and can’t vote for JD do what most of us are doing.....donate to JD and encourage as many people as you can to do the same
“McCain just stepped in a great big stinking pile of dog pooh!”
Right on! And as one of my Gunnys used to say: “Never kick a steaming turd!”
The “Eligibility Issue” continues to produce steam!
But he treats Hayworth like an Enemy of the Republic.
that tells you all you need to know about who and what juan really is
Obama- no experience, lots of collectivism- first year a failure(for libs, anyway). McCain- lots of experience, lots of appeasement- liberal in conservative clothing. They both talk good but it's nothing but crap, and crap ain't gonna solve the problems we face today (broke-ass broke).
I like my closing line better.
;-)
Yeah I have to donate to JD
2. But surprisingly, dear old Obama has been conspicuously silent when it comes to publicly giving us his 1961 birth doctor's name.So What
3. Why is dear old Obama denying his 1961 birth doctor and his family all the public praise and rewards that a doctor who delivered the sitting President of the United States should be entitled to? Like Bush, Clinton, Bush Dr. did?
4. For instance, the doctor and his family could appear all over the television on such shows as Larry King, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Beck AND BECOME INSTANTLY FAMOUS. Like Bush, Clinton, Bush Dr.did?
5. The good doctor could write a best-selling book about his experiences as a doctor at Kapiolani Hospital, the hospital where Obama says that he was born. Like Bush, Clinton, Bush Dr.did and there birth hospitals did?
6. The good doctor could have a TV-movie made of his life, and he and his family could become rich and famous from books and movies. Like Bush, Clinton, Bush Dr.did?
7. The good doctor's family could have members who are important or not so important people today, people who could use the financial rewards and publicity that would come to them when Obama publicly announced the name of his 1961 Hawaii birth doctor. Or could not want a few hundred Birther loons crawling up their butt.
8. But poor Obama, he is so silent about the name of his birth doctor. Good if the birth Dr. is still alive after 49 years, and just happens to remember this birth, he may not want said loons up his butt.
9. So, again, why is the President of the United States behaving in such a terrible way and setting such a poor example to the people of the United States? So Privacy laws not only do not protect the President now its everyone who ever had contact with him in the last 49 years.
10. Could this be the reason: There is NO doctor name or hospital name on Obama's 1961 long form birth certificate? Or there is and why should Obama interrupt his enemy's when there making a mistake. (to paraphrase Napoleon).
That is my take too. This ad is actually a attack on Obama giving free time for Berg and Taitz to question Obamas Eligibility. The attampt to tie Hayworth personally to Taitz and Berg is not there.
Fringe issues don't have this level of support:
“A state House committee on Tuesday approved the measure sponsored by 40 of the states 90 legislators. “
But...the Obots can continue with their fantasy. They will lose.
“...but you think a big spending congressman/lobbiest sock-puppet, who couldn’t win re-election in his little district, and proof of eligibility issue is gonna be right combination to take down McCain? Dream the dream friend.”
Sure, McLame may win this year despite the fact that voters are fed up with incumbents and McLame has already been in D.C. 24 years, jumping in front of every TV camera he can and running down Republicans at every opportunity. And McLame, old Keating 5 scandal boy himself, may be able to spin enough in the primary to make Republican voters forget his backing of the unconstitutional campaign finance fiasco, bank bailouts, “crossing the aisle” to join with Dims, illegal amnesty, cap and tax, etc., etc.
But I wouldn’t count on it.
McLame is emitting the odor of a 3-day old dead fish. I think Arizona Republicans are going to be less inclined to hold their noses and vote for him this time.

Cracks are already appearing,

You bet!....Cracks the size of Arizona’s Grand Canyon!
The following is a very big crack:
“A state House committee on Tuesday approved the measure sponsored by 40 of the states 90 legislators. “
Yep. McCain sucks. He's still gonna win. You gonna hit him with being a media whore and Keating 5? CFR. yawn. These are old issues that cut McCain support to just 77% in 2004.
McLame is emitting the odor of a 3-day old dead fish. I think Arizona Republicans are going to be less inclined to hold their noses and vote for him this time.
I see no polls to indicate Hayworth has masked the odor of corruption and spending he had in his home district in 2006.
Whatever. I didn't support McCain in the 2008 primaries. I wanted Thompson, but I would have voted for whoever won the GOP nod. Now, I don't believe Thompson ever intended to win. He entered the race to siphon votes from the Huckster and save McCain. All conservatives wanted anybody but McCain during the 08 primaries. But, when faced with the choice of McCain or Obama all but the most extreme Republican picked McCain on issues of WOT, Pro-Life, RKBA, free trade, runaway government spending, and taxes. McCain's VP choice of Palin got voters excited and he was leading in polls until the mortgage market collapsed in late Sept. McCain almost pulled off the culmination of 8 years of running for Pres.
Up until 2000 McCain's voting record was pretty conservative. To appeal to moderate and rat voters, fatigued on the GOP after 8 years of Bush, he would find ways to reach out to rats. He would also set about writing the campaign laws he would run under. With the Gang of 14, McCain bypassed the filibusters and the "nuclear option" which led to the confirmations of Chief Justice Roberts and judges Pryor, Brown, and Owen.
McCain is a very shrewed political operator. JD is an opportunist, who believes the door to opportunity, that slammed shut in his face in 2006, has opened again for him. If he wins the primary and we hold the seat, great. If not, every excited conservative dollar that was wasted on JD didn't go to Rubio or some other conservative with a better chance of winning.
That tears it for me. McCain and Romney now both resemble "Afterbirthers!" (If you catch my drift)
