I think he’s mostly dead on, but a little over the top in a couple of places.

I’m not so sure that he’s “over the top” anywhere in his commentary, upchuck.
Things are bad now but the potential exists for things to get dramatically worse. Our society is more fragile than most people realize and it wouldn’t take much to disrupt everything we take for granted.
A repeat of the 1973 oil embargo, or a collapse of the credit markets, or something so common as a solar flare, could bring us to our knees. Your local supermarket has three days worth of food on the shelves, not three months. And yes, the gangbangers DO outnumber the police.
Denninger gave a good overview of the dangers facing American society, with emphasis on the financial disaster that looms over us like a storm cloud. Load up now, while your dollars are still worth something.
