Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the members of the Senate Republican delegation to Thursday's White House health-care summit, and the list includes Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The Arizona Republican is not known as a health-care expert. But as the Republican presidential nominee in 2008, McCain offered a sweeping reform plan with some elements that overlap with the Obama proposal, and others that would have represented a radical departure from the current system.

I think the strong voice ‘might’ have to fall to lawyer, Kyl, and I am somewhat heartened if it does, because the last time I saw him on Greta’s he was fired-up and completely unwilling to budge from “clean start,” so we shall see if Mitch allows him to state that same case.
“McCain will not give an inch.....”

I tend to agree that is what he will do. McLame is running very conservative now for the primary. I don’t see him giving anything but trouble for the dems now. It would be political suicide for McLame to be bi-partisan and give HusseinCare any life.
Yep
Yes, complete list of the Senators, but the list does not include any of the House guys.
The two doctors aren’t RINOs.
Coburn is one of my favorite’s.
So, McConnell chose John McCain (who told us in 2008 that we didn’t have to fear Obama as President), one strong conservative (Dr. Coburn), and the rest not so much. These choices McConnell made in the face of a grassroots conservative resurgence in the country making clear that a conservative solution is what we demand. Way to read those tea leaves, Mitch.
Keep in mind that McCain ran his 2008 campaign as though Obama was a nice guy who was worthy to be elected President, but this year is treating his Republican opponent in the Arizona Senatorial campaign, J. D. Hayworth, as though he were an avowed Enemy of the United States.
Just a little perspective.
No Paul Ryan. Too bad. McCain’s probably the one who bumped him.
“You wont find McConnell EVER picking a conservative, like Inhofe from the senate, to represent us. McConnell is another one who should have been gone long ago and will help usher in amnesty.”
McConnell....hereinafter referred to as McFossil, is not even awake most of the time.
FWIW, I think McCain is going to come on like gangbusters and try to use national television to show everyone back home in Arizona what a wonderful conservative he is, because he has been one of the most vociferous opponents of Obama’s healthcare.
Right.
I wasn’t very clear.

Just the Senate...Still need the House list.
I agree, but I am concerned about the line of fire becuase they can only speculate how and what Bo will do in this meet. I understand some REP’S mentioned asking Bo for half the time for their side and if he won’t then they’ll walk out...so he knows they’re going to ask for that.
What are they going to do if any congressperson said they are going to attend? Lock them out?
Paul Ryan is in the House.
We don’t have their list yet and I am certain he will be part of Boehner’s team.
Oh God, this guy is a danger, Please Lord, save us from this old fool.
LOL. I don’t know.
Maybe DeMint didn’t want any part of this dog and pony show.
Most of them are RINO central. Please snow or something, please?
FROM;
A Republican congressman who serves as co-chairman of the House Doctors Caucus is requesting President Obama include representative doctors at his health care summit on Thursday.
Though the guest list for Thursday’s event won’t be finalized until Wednesday, Pennsylvania Rep. Tim Murphy, who is also a psychologist, has asked Obama to request participation from the 20-plus members of Congress with health care experience.
“If the administration and Congress were to meet on judicial reform, surely there would be lawyers in the room. When funding or strategy for the military is debated, we trust the veterans serving in Congress to best guide policy. The quality of health care reform legislation could be vastly improved if legislators who have treated patients, diagnosed illnesses, and written prescriptions are involved,” Murphy wrote in a letter Monday.
Murphy wrote that 14 members in the House have worked as psychologists, obstetricians, family physicians, heart surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, optometrists, radiation oncologists, dentists and nephrologists.
The Senate also has several doctors, including Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso, who told Fox News that if he were invited to the White House Thursday to discuss health care reforms he would definitely attend.
A House GOP aide said while not everyone has been named as guests, Republicans will send top leaders and relevant committee ranking members, including House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Michigan Rep. Dave Camp, who is ranking Republican on the Ways and Means Committee; Minnesota Rep. John Kline, ranking GOPer on the Education and Labor Committee; and Texas Rep. Joe Barton, ranking member on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Minority Leader John Boehner is also expected to attend though he has not yet responded. The aide said a couple “players to be named later” will also go to the White House
Murphy wrote that nearly half of the $2.5 trillion health care system is paid by taxpayers through programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and veterans care. He said professionals who have treated patients “have learned firsthand how the health care system can be improved, including: how $800 billion to $1 trillion wasted each year in the health care system can be eliminated.”
