In the spirit of FOX News: I report, you decide.
Glenn Beck acknowledged on his Monday afternoon television show that some folks did not approve of his keynote address to CPAC. The example he chose to express that displeasure was our Monday piece, " CPAC's Odd Ending."
Beck claimed on his show that my words made his case. I respectfully disagree and in fact submit the opposite. Here's why: In response to this article, Beck came right out and said words I have never heard him say before. His wording indicates that he does in fact think of the GOP as his team. He disavowed any third party movement almost totally on two different occasions. This will certainly come as a surprise to many of his regular viewers.
He claimed that he of course always meant this, but he has rarely if ever said these words...which was precisely the point of my article.
So, in the cool, unemotional format of print transcript, I invite the readers to decide as I quickly respond to Beck's comments from Monday's Glenn Beck Show.
BECK: Not everybody was in love with my speech at CPAC. Some are saying I wasn't quite partisan enough ... which I intentionally steered away from ... this [CPAC] isn't really talking to the Democrats.
WRIGHT: Actually, Mr. Beck, I did . . .

OBOMBA SAYS ‘CORPSEMAN’ THREE TIMES AND IT GOES UNNOTICED BUT BECK SAYS ‘NOPE’ AND IT IS DULY NOTED? COME ON.......
IT MUST NEARLY BE SPRING, BECAUSE ALL THE TROLLS ARE COMING OUT FROM BENEATH THEIR ROCKS ON FREE REPUBLIC.
Rush hasn't had an original idea in years ,, he is not a source of news as since his hearing loss he relies on others exclusively for gathering his info although his pathetic slightly disguised Drudge Report read from 12-3pm is sometimes punctuated with insightful commentary, he's been slacking for years and is just too full of himself carping about his "victories" while conveniently forgetting that getting Obama elected is his biggest victory. Meanwhile Glenn has been instrumental in sparking so much of the grassroots movement(s) that we have seen and continues to offer the best education you can get on his TV show.
He has always confirmed what people already think. That is why he became so sucessful

I have turned off Beck as much as i have listened to him. II like his historical perspective as it relates to current pending Washington politics. I like his exposure and comparisons of our current national debt as it relates to our ability to continue as a Republic. Where I disagree with Beck is when he paints all Republicans and Democrats with the same broad brush. Though Beck has probably never espoused a third party, his constant unqualified condemnation of Democrats and Republicans leaves one to consider the alternative. Of course, where I leave Beck off for a week is when he compares President Bush to Obama. That is too much for me.
Same here. I do expect a little partisan “Cheerleading” from these guys and when I get an earful of the opposite from bilbo, beck, or medved I turn them off. There are lots of conservative voices around - I don’t need a boat anchor...
In a perfect world, Beck would bring many dropped out conservatives back to the GOP, including some of the Perot and Reagan Democrats.
If Rush had said what Beck said at CPAC, or if Beck says it again in October, that would be worse than Beck in February. Considering the source and the timing, I think this may work out.
I’ve read that Proctor & Gamble makes many brands of tooth paste, understanding how the public has an appetite for variety. I am concerned, but perhaps brands Beck, Coulter, Palin, Bennet, Limbaugh, and so on will all come home to a more conservative GOP this November.
I think the Republicans lost a lot of folks to the independents when the brand became the social conservative party associated with country-club Republicans, run away spending, rescuing of big business and never ending nation building. I think Beck brings back some of the libertarian/conservative side of the Republican party that is resonating with folks - the protection of individual liberty, small government and strict construction of the Constitution. That, combined with fiscally conservative values, appeals more as a message brand to the majority of Americans than what the Republicans had been selling previously.
Am I the only one to notice over the last couple of days that if it isn’t one person it’s another that has a burr up their ass about, Beck or Rush or Levin...not to mention all of them in the “circular firing squad” shooting each other all the while as Obama, Rahm and the other lefties sit and laugh at it all.
It’s like CPAC got everyone all lathered up and excited then they all immediately went out side and shot each other rather than attacking the common enemy.......
So where did the slackers go? For whom did the people who did not care enough to fight for what they want vote? Voter turnout has been high in recent elections so not many stayed home. They didn't vote libertarian because the LP turnout is pathetic. So where did all these people land?
Very well done! Especially the praise of the good Beck does do. As you knew, I am sure, and as you can see on these threads, his position has bothered many for quite some time. Be nice if this ended it, wouldn’t it?
Beck is beginning to nip at Limbaugh’s heels in listenership. That Rush would eventually try to take action is a foregone conclusion.
Eventually Rush will fall from first. Everyone does. It’ll be fun to see how the Republican Party’s main apologist handles it.
Beck is right to compare Repubs to Dems and to compare Obama to Bush. If the shoe fits...... both parties have been taking us to financial and social ruin. Neither has the will to stop it. The Pubbies have to be reformed and re-organized and truly begin to stand for American values IN DEED, not just in word, or we are truly screwed.
There wasn’t a choice to vote for. You got McCain or Romney. Thompson was not energetic and never even made it to my primary. Now the tea party movement is providing some choices. Either the Republicans re-examine the saleability of thier candidates or the vote will be split. People aren’t ging to choose a Schgwarzenegar over a McClintock any more. They got burned too bad by just going along with the party.
The same thing has happened before in the Republican party in a few past years. For instance I was a state delegate to the convention back when Allen Keyes was running. When he gave his speech, the delegates came to there feet, but I saw and heard many say things like "If I wanted a sermon I would have gone to church." because he spoke of abortion "too much". The Rockefeller Repubs want to kick out the social conservatives. They still do today. They believe that they could get crossover Dems to vote Repub if we kick out the Christians. I think everyone with a lick of sense would agree the Repubs would be in eternal darkness if the Christians leave or stay home.
The Tea Party also needs to realize there are many Dems in the Tea Party's that are just upset about loosing $500 billion in Medicare. The other half may even see Medicare as unfixable and needs to be scrapped, but they are both marching together as of now. If the Tea Party doesn't come up with a consistent set of planks, the Tea Party will most likely splinter and just become a footnote of history. Will Dems vote for Repubs if the Repubs end up cutting Medicare? Most Tea Party "sign wavers" realize the country is about to default and want to make cuts, but leave my Social Security and Medicare alone. That isn't a workable scenario so it will be in their faces soon enough. They will blame Republicans for this and hearken back to the "good ole days" when Dems would have just borrowed and printed more money. Never underestimate the ignorance of a Democrat.
It will be a real coup to keep the Tea Party on message for any length of time without starting their own party. If the Repubs will share power, it may work, but most likely personalities will flare up and the Tea Party will break off when Repubs tell them Rush Limbaugh can't be elected in New York.
For myself, I think the Tea Party should make their prime focus following the Constitution,..... ie, Article 1 section 8 and 9. If we did that, the spending cuts would be automatic because they would be deemed unconstitutional. Many of the scuffles we have today that seem so divisive and important aren't even in the scope of what the government is allowed to do. The average American educational prowess is pretty much that of a rock when it comes to history and government. Gubmint schools have been teaching some strange mix of capitalism and socialism for decades that doesn't resemble anything our Founders envisioned.
I had never heard of C. What’s-his-name, but he seems to think he’s pretty important. I would note that Beck was the keynote speaker at CPAC, not him, and maybe he should put a sock in it.
When the shoe fits, and it often does, then get used to it. You may not like the truth, but that is what he is trying to show you. Both parties have been guilty, we need to throw the identified "Progressives" out, or in the long run it won't matter.
He has made it abundantly clear, as has Palin, that we must reclaim the Republican Party. He as well as myself and many here are not sure that is possible, but we certainly hope so. But holding you nose and voting for the sam old Progressive RINO will only slow the process.
Witness the Savior Brown's new attitude of cooperation today.
The issue is the general elections however is Republican vs Democrat.
As for Brown, his wasn't the only GOP vote, Kit Bond, along with 3 other did so.
Brown is an extreme upgrade from Ted Kennedy and Crougly!

I was using his hearing loss to mark a point in time when the show started going downhill in quality, obviously audio acuity has no bearing on intelligence ,, Rush has become lazy, arrogant and pompous. He has always said his success is due to his parroting what we already know to be true, not due to any great insight of his although he occasionally had sparks of brilliance through the years... I see his success as being the first to market with a new product , in his case TRUTH ,,, pick almost any product category in any store you frequent ... the first to market often grabs the largest market share and is difficult to unseat ... Rush was first ... he has been coasting for years but is still number 1. McDonalds serves terrible food but BK and Wendy’s can’t surpass them in sales.
Beck ... compares President Bush to Obama. That is too much for me.

Bush did 2 things right ,, fought Al-Queda and lowered taxes... but he was no conservative ,, we had Medicare “D” , the Amnesty push , McCain Feingold endorsed and signed , huge spending increases , packing the federal beaurocracy with socialists with his idiotic “lets all be friends and sing kumbaya” attitude and caving to the socialists/progressives at every turn. A blind man could see where Bush’s policies were leading us ,, we would have arrived here just a few years later.
Beck is right to compare Bush to Obama ,, if you can’t face the truth you can’t fix the problem and the problem is that we effectively have one party rule.
