This isn't true at all. We voted for Brown because he claimed to not only be against Obamacare, but also because he was against all big government tax-and-spend bills, like the "Jobs Bill" he just signed onto. Also because of his repeated declaration: "This is the PEOPLE'S seat". Well the PEOPLE are sick and tired of all of Obama's, Pelosi's and Reid's big government agenda, not just Obamacare.
The good citizens of Massachusetts need to rip Brown a new one over this, and send back to him his own declaration: "This is not YOUR seat, Senator Brown, it is the PEOPLES".
Yes, he lied about being a fiscal conservative to get elected.
He WILL vote for a “new and improved” healthcare bill.
Of course it is.
The # 1 issue with conservatives at the time of the Brown election was to stop 0bamacare. The # 1 issue that Brown campaigned on was to be the "41st vote to stop 0bamacare”.
That's all I cared about.
“but also because he was against all big government tax-and-spend bills, like the “Jobs Bill” he just signed onto”
The massive now $862 Billion “stimulus” bill was already passed last year. No one was voting for Scott Brown to stop that. That was a done deal.
“. Also because of his repeated declaration: “This is the PEOPLE'S seat”. “
Yeah..the people of Massachusetts, who are quite different from the people of a red state like say Utah.
There are going to be plenty of votes where Scott Brown will vote like his his liberal constituents in Massachusetts want him to vote, rather them how the conservative base want him to vote. As long as he helps to stop 0bamacare, I am not going to lose any sleep over it.
After November, Scott Brown can be free to vote with the Democrats whenever he thinks the Massachusetts people want him to vote that way, and it wouldn't really make any difference, because Republicans will have at least 49 US Senate sates, if not more.
“The good citizens of Massachusetts need to rip Brown a new one over this, and send back to him his own declaration: “This is not YOUR seat, Senator Brown, it is the PEOPLES”.
You will find that if you conducted a poll amongst the “good citizens of Massachusetts" right now, at least 50% of them will agree with Scott Brown on this one. This is a $15 billion bill, not an $862 Billion bill. The guy is up for reelectction in 2012, he is bound to vote the Massachusetts way from time to time. He is the senator from Massachusetts after all. He is till a million times better than The Swimmer or Martha Coakley for that matter.
