The fact is that when many people say they cant find a job, what they really mean is they cant find the job they want, at the wage they want, under the working conditions they want. Which means that high unemployment is, to a great extent, a result of workers simply refusing to accept low-paying jobs, preferring instead to live off government largesse.
This argument makes sense if one thinks it is efficient for tens of thousands of dollars to be spent towards Bachelors and Masters degrees only to have people working at McDonald's. I have alot of skills to offer, the least of which is flipping burgers.
