Regina Spektor Lyrics:
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No ones laughing at God
When theyre starving or freezing or so very poor
No one laughs at God
When the doctor calls after some routine tests
No ones laughing at God
When its gotten real late
And their kids not back from the party yet
No one laughs at God
When their airplane start to uncontrollably shake
No ones laughing at God
When they see the one they love, hand in hand with someone else
And they hope that theyre mistaken
No one laughs at God
When the cops knock on their door
And they say we got some bad news, sir
No ones laughing at God
When theres a famine or fire or flood
It gets harder and harder to trot out the standard “recession gives many a chance to reflect” stories.
I understand the “How’s that hope and change working for ya?” snark, and it’s well deserved amongst Obama’s sheeple, but unfortauntely, this is affecting people who have opposed him from the start in worse ways than for the welfare and college kid crowd.
In my house, we are prepared for whatever torment this tyrant is going to inflict on us, but we don’t find any comfort in that readiness. We did things the way we were supposed to...bought a house we could afford even if one of us lost our job, built up a savings account, paid down our debts, especially the car payments. But that may soon not be enough.
I pray this nation finds it’s way out of this. November cannot come soon enough.
As it turns out, jobs which employ high school or college kids at low wage will not usually hire a 50’s something guy with a degree and professional experience. They want a tabula rasa kid who will more easily accept doing things by rote, who is not likely to move to a better job right after getting training. They have a template of what their typical hire looks like and it is “kid”.
Obama is our trojan horse.
“Everything BO does - “jobs” bills, “stimulus” packages, “health care reform”, corporate bailouts, even his foreign policy to some extent - is geared towards destroying the self reliant middle class”
Indeed; it is the common denominator of EVERY marxist takeover; destruction of the bourgeoisie. Impoverishment = destruction of political opposition, and that’s what it’s all about.
Economists fear that the nascent recovery will leave more people behind than in past recessions,
Demographics. The last big recession was over 30 years ago. We ‘worked’ our way out of it.
The ‘microwave’ generation, the ‘I want it all and I want it now’ do not have the skills to dig out of a typical recession.
They will wait until someone comes along and ‘gives’ them a job.
They don’t understand the term ‘value creation’.
We also have more people that know ONLY government assistance than we did 30 years ago.Easier to accept free cheeze when there’s no longer any stigma to it.
Kids can't even get minimum wage jobs anymore, yet we import workers by the thousands.
I'm nearing 50, will lose my job in November, and am starting to wonder if this country and society has simply thrown me away like garbage. I have my family and my faith to stick to, thanks be to God, but were it not for them ...
