Stanley has always been a weird one to figure out. I had heard him called a conservative because of some things he had said on different shows, including Chris Rock’s old show, if I’m not mistaken.
But ever since Obama appeared, he’s taken more of an interest in racial solidarity and the facade of intellectuals standing together (he mistakenly thinks Obama is an intellectual) than in whatever ‘conservative’ insticts or politics he may have possessed.
That doesn’t mean you have to hate everyone who disagrees with you, this is just a strange piece. Often Stanley has been fairly vituperative, if I recall.
Crouch used to be vocal about school choice up until Obama took office. I haven't seen a column on that subject since. I defy all lurkers to name even one more quasi-conservative position that Crouch has ever endorsed.
