“I guess Audie didn’t know too much about war or bad Generals.”
Audie Murphy knew a little more about war than you give him credit for. He ONLY killed 240 German & Italian soldiers, was awarded the MOH, DSC, 2 SS, 2 BS, 2 PH, and a battlefield commission - all in 2 years of combat.
He later served in the Texas National Guard, retired with the rank of major, and suffered from PSTD the rest of his life. Murphy was a born leader and possibly THE BEST combat soldier to ever serve in America’s military.
To say he “didn’t know too much about war or bad Generals” has to be one of the most ridiculous statements of all time.
Not at all. I have seen estimates that indicate more than 1 million non-Jewish people died in the Holocaust, and it's only reasonable to assume at least some of their money made its way to Switzerland. This is of course to say nothing of the wealth that was pilfered from other countries that may have found its way to Swiss banks and Swiss auction houses.
But, it's clear that the lion's share of Swiss involvement with the Nazis was the willful receipt stolen property stolen from the Jews by the Nazis, and the actions of the Swiss themselves by looting accounts of Jewish depositors that they knew had perished in the Holocaust. This was billions and billions of money and property, at 1945 value.
Dude, you need to read my previous posts. I was being sarcastic in response to a comment from another poster who was pooh poohing a story I shared from Audies biography concerrning Audie’s disdain of Mark Clark. The poster pooh-poohed that by basically saying Audie Murphy didn’t know anything about being a General. I thought the sarcasm was pretty obvious in my post.
Roger that - I only read your last post on this thread.
>This was billions and billions of money and property, at 1945 value.<
Verified by whom? When?
Read the thread. I alone posted the name of two books that detail the complicitous behavior of the Swiss during WWII. There are dozens of other books that make such an argument. Pick one of them up and read it. Education is our friend.
It was always fact. Check your history.
